Ok, the Jo Chen cover is just...nah. *Shivers* I actually don't like it. First time I've said THAT!

But I LOVE the Georges one!! It has Starfury for the liciense plate!! I met Geroges at a Starfury Convention in February, so this is just awesome. I wonder if this is what he was working on in all the breaks? He always had his head stuck in his sketch pad.

I'll buy the Jo cover, 'cause I have them all and it'd be a shame to break the collection, but I'm gonna get the Georges cover too, just 'cause it's so cool, lol.

I love the fact that Buffy can't even drive a flying car. Seems driving and Buffy are non-mixy things no matter the vehicle. But erm...what's happened to Dawnie? And how?

The Jo Chen one is just eerie, because that's Dawn, right? Yeah, shivers.

And the Jeanty one, yeah again, nifty.

But the truly fascinating stuff is in the blurb.

I can't get a clear picture in my mind, but there was another cover where some vampire looking women was standing alongside Harth. In the recent letters page Scott Allie said characters are popping in who went from Buffy to Angel. I'm thinking Drusilla.

Meanwhile, Dawn's gone through another bizarre change.

Seriously? A centaur? No way. Really?

Was it ever made clear if Dawn's problem is really sourced from Kenny the thricewise, or is the possibility available she's in some way causing these changes herself. Will her keyness come back into play? Is Harth still looking for a way to cross dimensions?

Ok, I didn't want to mention anything earlier, 'cause EEP! Spoilers! But at the Con in February, Georges drew a Drusilla print, three prints in total, which were auctioned for Juliet's film fundraising...he said he was looking forward to drawing more Dru in the future. He never said outright that dru was going to show up in S8, not as far as I remember any, but I'm leaning towards Dru.

Don't know, if it is her, if she's just showing up for the Fray arc, or is she really is the Big Bad.

There aren't that many "powerful enemies from Buffy's past" that walked away in one piece. There was, of course, the First Evil, contained but never destroyed; Drusilla in some of her more coherent moments; Angelus, but that's just not gonna happen; and, of course, our current mystery man/beast/thing, Twilight. There may be others, but I can't think of any right now (unless maybe Riley finally got sucked on by the wrong vampire ho and got turned. Now, THAT would be a plot twist!)

Actually i have been very impressed with all the cover art so far in the season 8 comics.

The little issue description would strongly imply it's Dawn.

And it's gotta be Dru in league with Harth right? With this latest info, plus that #17 cover. Hmm. Dru's got her psychic premonitions and Harth inherited psychic Slayer dreams. Wonder if that comes into play in any way. And they've both had apocalypty aspirations.

The Chen cover struck me as very Harry Potter for some reason. Have to say I'm not cray about it but I'll still get it to maintain the collection. I love the little details of Jeantry's cover, like the fact that Buffy is driving a Mitsubishi and also that she still drives like a spaz😀.

Dawn's situation isn't as weird as the talking burger in Angel or the shark loan. This is BtVS, expect weird things to happen.

But something that they havent been showing us is a 3rd "variant" cover that will start at the beginning of the Fray arc. Its four covers that when put together form one big long picture. And it seems to have all the major charecters who are playing in this arc. My comic shop owner showed the picture to me (he wanted 20 dollars for each issue....) but I didnt look at it long enough to notice who anyone was besides Buffy and Fray. Though there is a brunette woman on the cover....

I like the Georges cover the most... he's drawn Fray really well. I really shouldn't read these threads because now I'm not going to be surprised when Dru shows up. I wouldn't have been that excited though, because I'm still wishing Buffy had the chance to stake her for killing Kendra. Damn I hope that happens. 😉

I know, the blurb pretty much says that the first cover is Dawn, but we can't be sure of it, can we? I don't think it looks that much like her. If it is her, aww, poor Dawn! Not only is she a giant, but she's a giant centaur? That's gotta suck. And I think the cover is nice, it's just kind of creepy...

I love the alternate cover! Love that they're making a callback to how Buffy and driving are unmixy things. And I spy Georges' signature in the background.
