I was just looking at Amazon.com, and the price for Issue 17 is $24.95. Is that some kind of special autographed edition or something that I haven't heard about?
 
I have no idea. It's not even the variant cover.

While we're on the subject, though, do you find you get them faster if you preorder from Amazon or TFAW?

I only pre-ordered once from Amazon, and that was actually from one of their sub-contractors, but it seemed to take longer from them than from TFAW. Something that I did discover about TFAW was that, unless you specify differently, they will, for some strange reason, delay shipment of your order for 4 weeks. You have to change that to 1 week unless you want to read one issue about the time that the next one comes out.
 
Its probably some indivual seller trying to get extra money.There are plenty of those on amazon.
