Dark Horse has provided Newsarama with an exclusive peek at January's Buffy the Vampire Slayer #21 - "Harmonic Divergence" by Jane Espenson, Georges Jeanty and Andy Owen. The solicitation for the issue reads: Television writer Jane Espenson (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Battlestar Galactica) returns to Buffy the Vampire Slayer in Season Eight. Espenson is the first of five acclaimed writers that tackle this groundbreaking story arc--where Buffy fans are introduced to a new world where vampires are in and Slayers are out. Cue Harmony, the bubblegum cheerleader from Sunnydale High whose ambitions include blood sucking and stardom. Espenson teams with series artist Georges Jeanty and Executive Producer Joss Whedon, in "Harmonic Divergence." Due in stores January 7th, 2009.

Saw it a few hours ago, thought it was the worst preview so far, nothing really happens in it, one page might as well be blank =/

Kind of agree. Wasnt that all impressed by the preview like I have been in the past. Hopefully the issue as a whole will be much much better. Espically since it comes from JE.

The page of Harmony sucking the guy in the allyway(that sounded so wrong didn't it? 😉 ) annoys me the most. We've all seen that exact scene god knows how many times on the show (admittedly with different characters), i think it's safe to say we would have all got what was happening from just one little panel, we don't need a whole page.
 
I'm thinking the scene we see in the preview will turn out to be a staged part of Harmony's TV show.

That's just a guess.

Or, it's possible the nature of her show is that she vamps people who *want* to be vamped...
 
Anything with Any Dick in it is just bad. What was Joss thinking?

I thought the MTV thing was just a joke for Buffy readers. I just check MTV.com and they didn't mention it.

Sounds like a bad issue. Think I'll give it a miss since I wasn't much of a Harmony fan anyway.

It's more than just about Harmony, though. This is the issue that sets in motion the big story arc that will take us through the end of the season. This is the point where the uber-plot is really going to start kicking in.
