I have never had a spring fling or a "summer thing"! I am not the flinging type...but I am seriously considering it this year! lol Nothing serious, just something fun and something disposable!

I want to hear about all of your spring flings and/or your summer flings. Do you look back and think of them fondly? Have you ever seen them again? Where were you at and what did you do? How long did it last? Was it worth it?

I'm not the flinging type either, so I can't provide you with any great stories! But I'm fully supportive of you finding yourself a fun fling! As long as it's clear to both of you that that's all it is!

LOL! Thanks, Jenny. I never thought I would be interested in something like that but what I have been doing in the past hasn't been working out for me all that well...and I am always up to trying new things so maybe this would provide fun in the sun without any emotional attatchments!

Knowing me...I would end up falling in love with the fool anyway and be crushed in the end... lol Who knows?! I'll keep you posted if I end up pursuing the fling! 😉

That's why I've never done it 🙂 I know I would have picked some great guy that would be perfect for me..hehe.

Yes please keep me posted! 🙂 Probably the best way is to go away and meet someone that you know you can't have a relationship with because of distance!

Okay Jenny! I did it, I found a fling! lol Well...I'm not putting anything serious in it anyway...just having a good time and hangin' out. I never thought I could do it but it is kinda exciting. I feel fun and cute! 🙂

I'm really curious about everybody's else's flings? Remember Sandy and Danny from Grease?! Nobody else had summer lovin?! lol

Oooh describe him! Where did you meet him? What's he look like? 🙂 Congrats and have fun!!!!!!

Chasity, I'm hurt. I thought I was going to be your fling!!! For shame...

I've never had a fling for just summer/spring. One nighters...sure. Never had the joy of going a summer or spring though.

Why would someone enter into into a relationship with the intention of it not going anywhere? I don't get it. Maybe I'm a romantic, or old fashioned but I just don't get it.

Honey, you are a romantic... just like me. I do understand though... that Chasity doesn't want anything that might end in tears.

Chasity honey, I haven't had any flings. Romantic here as well. But if you both know what you are doing and you don't get too attached to each other then you will be fine. I'm sure you'll have lots of fun.

I still don't get it. Are you suggesting a relationship without emotion? Without attachment? How is that possible? If you spend a lot of time with someone how are not going to feel something one way or the other?

To enter into a relationship, even a purely physical one I'd imagine, there would have to be some sort romantic feelings or at least attraction. So how do you share yourself and your life with someone that you're attracted to and obviously like on some level (if not then you wouldn't want to spend time with them), and not feel anything even just friendship?

If you could how would such a relationship be at all fulfilling? What would be gained from it? We seem to be discussing a relationship involving two people using each other. How is that a good thing? What benefit is gained from it?

I don't see how you can forge a relationship with someone and not develop some sort of emotional attachment. I'm not sure such a thing is possible.

I don't know, maybe I'm dense, but I don't get it. How could such a thing exist and, if it could, how could it not be as likely to end in heart ache and resentment as any other relationship?

🙂 chasity 🙂

i have never had a summerfling! but i did mess around with this guy too many times! just a drunk fling thing... it was nothing serious but it was fun😉

good luck with your fling chasity! 😀

Jenny...I'll send you a PM with details! lol 😀

Happy, elmo...I too am a hopeless romatantic and have thought that I have found "the one" two times...that was not the case. I am tired of having a broken heart but yet I want to hang out with someone and would prefer that "someone" to be of the male sex. I thought that perhaps I needed something different in my life...something just pure and fun. I have found that.

There is not realtionship status...we talk often and have been seeing each other frequently. He asked me if we were dating and I told him we were just "seeing"! lol We share so many of the same interests and are never short of conversation or entertainment. I feel he is a friend but with the flattery of an immense mutual attraction. I feel very cute and so fun around this person. Those feelings are very fullfilling and it takes some of the lonliness out of my life. And at this point in my life, I am looking to just enjoy myself. For all those that are curious I am not having a sexual relationship with this person. Just sharing a few intimate moments, not actual sex. To a certain extent I am without emotion concerning this guy. I do not get upset when he doesn't call and when he does it is good to hear from him. Happy...I can honestly say that I do not know where this going to end up. I do not see my future with him at all and the old me would of said, "why bother"...but the new me...well, the new me is just smiling a lot and enjoying it for the present moment. I am going into this...saying nothing serious, which was not the case from my last two relationships. If I don't put any real serious thought into I do not think that my heart can break.

Thanks polexia! I plan on having a blast! 😉

Ninjalizer...dude...I did try you! You told me you were busy with this kick @ss girl you met from the net...how could I dare interfere?! The chick sounds rad! 😉 lol

It's true. You are dense. Or ignorant. But I don't mean any of those things negatively at all, even though it looks that way. I am just like you. A romantic. I've had too many times when I thought me and this girl were going somewhere, going to start up something great, and then they just stopped it. Caused it to be a one-nighter. It took me time to realize what the deal was. It's hard to understand for someone that feels the way you do. I've been there. But there is a certain function in our body that requires romance, and one that requires intimacy. They are two different things.

Intimacy is very nice to have with someone. You get the butterflies, you get the sexual feelings for the person, and you get the desire. But you don't necessarily wish to have that long lasting. You want to feel the same way about someone else. If you're romantically involved, it's hard to do that. Like a temporary tattoo. You just want to have fun with it for a while, and then move on. It's hard hard to understand, but someday you might.
