A [WB] Official said in an interwiew" because of the current Viewing figures for Angel which are at a steady High its 95% Certain that they will renew the series for fifth Season"

He also said he has heard some great ideas taking the series in a new direction and hopes a sixth series will be on the cards depending on next years Viewing figures.

Well they have no reason not to have an Angel fifth season the show buffy has been on the air for a good amount of time and SMG is moving on you cant have a buffy the Vampire slayer without Buffy
 
TV Guide has reported that Angel has NOT been renewed yet:

THIS BITES: The WB has renewed six of its series for next season "” but unfortunately, Angel isn't one of them. Charmed, Gilmore Girls, Everwood, Smallville and Reba have been picked up for the 2003-04 season, while Monday-night staple 7th Heaven received a two-year green light. The network is expected to make a decision on Angel, arguably the WB's best show, in May.
 
Zap2It has posted an interview with David Greenwalt about the possibility of S5 of Angel

On the one hand, "Angel," which he co-created with Joss Whedon ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer") for The WB, is awaiting word of whether it will get picked up for a fifth season, after not having been named among six scripted shows already given the green light for fall. Although he's no longer working full-time on "Angel," Greenwalt keeps a weather eye on the drama and consults on scripts and story.

On the other hand, the show he is working on full-time, ABC's freshman midseason drama "Miracles," is struggling to find a place on the schedule and hoping for a chance at a second season.

After having been moved around The WB's schedule, "Angel" is currently airing Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET. While it has a loyal following, there is an opinion at the network that it may not be able to increase its audience. According to Greenwalt, he and fellow producers Whedon, Tim Minear and Jeffrey Bell have an idea on what to do about that.

"Most recently," he says, "Joss and Jeff and Tim and I went to both [producing studio] Fox and The WB to explain the exciting next year for 'Angel.' We're going to revamp the whole show."

David Boreanaz stars in "Angel" as a vampire with a soul, who has been battling evil in Los Angeles after leaving the Sunnydale setting of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," currently airing on UPN. With "Buffy" coming to an end after seven seasons this May, Greenwalt sees even more possibilities. For one, he plans to move beyond the vintage hotel that currently houses Angel and his crew.

"I'm not sure we're going to blow up the hotel," he says, "but the notion is of them going to a place that is more like an advertising agency, lots of glass and light. It's going to be great -- visitors from the 'Buffy'-verse, including a possible regular from the 'Buffy'-verse."

"I think these ideas are so strong that it could run two years. It would be a whole new show. We'd put the characters in a new situation, both financially and physically. It's all about us saying, 'OK, you've been on the Greenpeace ship saying, " Hey, Shell Oil is bad." What happens if you actually have to go work for Shell Oil? What happens if you had to be on the inside, grow up, get a real job?' I'm really excited about it."

"I give 'Angel' a better than 50/50 chance of coming back next year. I think it has a pretty good shot."

Sounds like they are trying to get Angel and gang to work for Wolfram and Hart.
 
My exact thoughts, anyways, it looks great, Angel still has a lot of potential, even more then Buffy!

But Wolfram and Hart are a evil lawyer firm. Angel and the gang are good. Why will they work there?
 
W&H will NOT be coming onto the show again.
All the members of the firm are dead (Except maybe Lyndsey)
 
LAst time we saw Lindsey, he wasn't one of W&H anymore, but did the Beast also kill off the senior partners? W&H was an extremly large orginisation, it even had division in other dimension (Pylea), remember? The Beast can't possibly have killed all of them off aswell, can he?

I think The Beast only killed off the W&H people in LA though so there probably are more members in other dimensions.
 
I really don't think this is the end of Wolfram & Hart, cause really who knows if this wasnt involved in their plans? To wipe out all evidence pointing to the senior partners and then have their apocalypse.
 
What would happen if SMg did guest star? would there be a big jealousy triangle with Cordy? that one i would have to see!
 
Well, seeing as how all the staff of W&H are dead, that leaves a large opportunity for a little core-business restructuring. There are, however, a few possibilities for W&H characters to play a role. Certainly Lyndsey isn't dead, and he's one of my big favorites. Does anyone know the actor behind Lyndsey is working on at the moment?

That would certainly be interesting. Angel working within a law Firm of sorts.. Something I'd really like to see is a little growth for the characters in terms of career and utilization of their talents. Will Cordy ever be a star? Will Gunn always be the muscle when we know there is so much more to him in terms of ability? Will Amy ever realize a benefit from her stunning intellectual capability? I'd like to see those characters grow in terms of discovering their social limits, and not just their abilties to splatter a demon.

Originally intended as a show about teenage angst and trenchcoats and stuff, Angel quickly became defined as a show appealing mainly to people in their mid to late 20's. One of the major issues you face in that time period is growth of career, and establishment of a family. These kinds of topics kept the show Friends busy for a long time (It catered to a similar audience) so I imagine that they could easily bring new life to Angel.

I was always rooting for Cordelia in her attempts to build a career beyond A.I. Somewhere along the way she dropped those ambitions, and while her resolve was interesting for a time, it quickly became boring. It seemed like the moment she decided that her previous ambitions were unimportant, her character became a finished product, and that left no room for growth. Personally, I would like to see what she can do with the depth of character she has aquired in recent years. Kind of like putting her new-found strength of character to the test. Yes the selfish, shallow cordelia of the past failed to amount to anything professionally, but how would she do now, with scads of new depth of character (is it possible to have too much character?)

This smells like a sellout...a chance for the WB to get the ABC viewers who watch lawyer and business shows

this sounds gay....the hotel is ill...although blowing up the hotel would be hellla ill...but not if its going to be replaced by cubicles and office shananogans...
 
The new thing sounds cool, thought I don't really see what Angel could do in a glass house during the day other then burst into flames :S
