Apple is discontinuing iTunes. Including iTune cards. What will all these "IRS collectors" have you pay your outstanding balance with now?

I hated iTunes with a passion. A passion. Just over the last few months I have been using it alot. Alot. And now I'm all conflicted. Conflicted.

Not really bothered. I never used iTunes much, though I thought it was good for skimming through albums until Spotify came along.

Man, I remember when iTunes gift cards were considered a cool gift. I don't even know the last time I used iTunes.

Don't you still have to sync all of your ios stuff to itunes? To do backups and what not? That was one of the worst things about iphone; making you have to use itunes.

Yes, but I got rid of my Iphone a few years ago. I was also one of those people who didn't keep up with the updates and only did it when forced to.
I had iTunes myself on my last computer but never put it on this one .

Now i thinking i should check & see if i have as balance on it .

This shows how you cannot trust a proprietary system. I like open-source like MP3 where at least if one company drops it, it still exists. No point buying an iPod for music any more. But mainly I prefer CD's because you get the liner notes and the cover artwork and you get some songs that may not be your favourite when you buy the CD but they grow on you.

If you have a Mac I just thought they will split it up a bit and you will be using Apple Music, Apple TV and Podcaster instead.
Syncing your iPhone will be done directly in the Finder.

Not sure how it will work if you use iTunes to sync your phone on your PC like I do...

That how i feel . After all all he songs on a CD were ment to be listin to at the same time. That way you get a feel for everything not just one sone .
Plus in a few cases i found songs that i didnt think i like but endeded liking real well .

I prefer listening to albums too for the same reason.
iTunes is a mess. I basically don’t use it because it is a pain and doesn’t work properly. Not really keen on now needing 3 apps to replace it though.

If they were more streamlined and had a better UI it might not be that bad. But having three separate "iTunes" would be a hard pass. I do like the idea of a new Mac Pro (even though it looks odd) so maybe they are finally starting to do things right. I don't have faith though.

Neither do i . Things are so messed up they have no way out the mess .

I buy CD's, and when I buy MP3's I get them from Amazon. I haven't bought anything from iTunes in years. I do use the iTunes program on my PC to organize my music collection (and I have an iPod Classic), but it's an old version from like 10 years ago, because recent versions of the app have sucked.

Good old Apple... always ready and eager to tell us what we want.

Hated iTunes - it was so impossible to use, always used the metadata even if it was wrong, so listening to audiobooks meant it would play "track 1" of CD1, then "track 1" of CD2, etc., and half the time, it'd wipe everything off and start again even if I just wanted to add one more song!

I'd always rather have the CDs and rip them to MP3 then I can use them anywhere, with any listening device.

At home, we have a sonos system, which is amazing, as I can listen to the same audiobook in any room in the house!
