I'm just a big pessimist, but I really don't like the sentence "It's going to be okay". The truth is it will likely not be okay, and people should stop lying about it. It's okay not to be okay.

That being said, it was a interesting to read and see the artwork, and it's an inspiring story.
 
Oh I love this it is a great message. It is one of those things that people will draw from it what they will. For me I see that when things look bleak and chance of survival is slim, you have to believe that things are going to work out. They may not work out like you hope but even believing it can change your outlook and stop you from giving up. Never give up.

Just like Whistler said "Bottom line is, even if you see them coming, you're not ready for the big moments. No one asks for their life to change, not really. But it does. So, what are we, helpless? Puppets? Nah. The big moments are gonna come, you can't help that. It's what you do afterwards that counts. That's when you find out who you are."

Nearly two years ago now I had my big moment and that is when the true context of that statement really hit home to me and I got it.

c) OMG he survived THREE plane crashes? I'm not sure if that would make me feel entirely safe on a plane, or terrified to ever get back on one again...

I would rather not be comforted. I would rather be told "we are going to die" that way you can make yourself right in the head. But it's easier to comfort and lie to people than tell them the truth.
 
I think the message of 'hope' is always a good one. As is the way that some people just don't give up against seemingly impossible odds and end up succeeding. Better to fight than to give up because sometimes fighting is all we can do.
(I just watched S7 'Help' and it gave me the feels)

I do like this story even though I don't like everything that Gene did with Star Trek (which is a minor thing really). The arts not bad either.

But seriously, if I was in two plane crashes, you would never get me on a mother-f*****g plane again! 😱

Strange isn't it, I wonder how many people have been in some sort of car crash and will/ would they get into a car again?

when I had my car crash I didn't think I would drive again (not just because my car was destroyed) but as soon as I got a new car I was back on the road

Interesting to read, it makes you wonder about the stories of the people that aren't big headliners and get every bit of their past publicized.
