I think I'll give this one a no:

Director Tim Burton is making a new live-action Addams Family spinoff series for Netflix: a coming of age series focused on Wednesday Addams that will fittingly be called Wednesday.

The show — which has yet to announce any details on cast or release date — will mark Burton’s directorial debut for television. Burton is known for his work on gothic horror and comedy, and his filmography includes movies like Beetlejuice, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bride, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Dark Shadows, as well as the campy superhero films Batman and Batman Returns. A live-action Addams Family spinoff would seem to fit perfectly in his oeuvre.

According to a blog post announcing the series, the first season of Wednesday will span eight episodes and follow Wednesday Addams as she heads off to attend the “peculiar” Nevermore Academy. The show will see Wednesday deal with relationships around school, her psychic abilities, and mysteries surrounding both a murder in the local town and her parents’ own supernatural pasts.

What psychic abilities? And what supernatural past? I don't recall there ever being anything really supernatural about either Gomez or Morticia. Do you?

Gomez and/or Morticia not being really supernatural? What show did you watch?
This sounds like it's right up my alley; Tim Burton? Check. Wednesday Addams? Check. All they need now is to make it as cheesy as Riverdale and it'll be my new favorite show 😀

I hope Johnny Depp is in it. Burton wants him as Gomez but the studio is reluctant due to Amber Heard's lies.

Well, I'll be sure to really not watch it if Depp is in it.

Why is that?
I can't stand his "acting" any longer. Used to be a big fan but Willy Wonka, Jack Sparrow, The Mad Hatter, Barnabas Collins, Tonto, whoever he was in Transcendence, Mortdecai... I did get excited when he did Whitey Bulger but then gave an even worse Jack Sparrow, Another Mad Hatter, Those Harry Potter prequels, a caricature performance in the Orient Express... I just gave up on him as an actor to the point I cringe whenever I see him now.

hate to agree with Spanky, but...
I’m interested mostly because I want to see Burton do TV, I’d rather not see Depp in it because I think it is when they work together things get a bit same-same, but that otherwise both are talented.

Not that it matters since I don’t have, not want, Netflix. But I’ll check out the style in the trailers.

this premise makes it sound much better:

"a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. That’s where she attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships."

But I still get a Sabrina feeling from it.

Wy Earp is more of a guilty pleasure kind of show.
I'd put my top 10/20 shows against anyone's
While Sabrina wasn't perfect, I still liked it. So for me I would give it a chance if its similar in the good ways to the new Sabrina.

Of course. Because you're biased. Unless you think you have terrible taste it would be odd to think otherwise. Apart from music, your taste isn't that terrible. Just not as refined as others...
