Back to a longer part.

What did you think about the introduction of the Paris vampires?

What are your thoughts about the Theatre des Vampires?

How would you describe the love Louis has for Armand?

Was Louis right to turn Madeliene for Claudia?

How do you feel about Lestat returning and the capture of the group?

What did you think about the death of Claudia?

Does Giles going after Angelus post Jenny's death have parallels to Louis burning down the Theatre post Claudia's death?

What did you think about the introduction of the Paris vampires?

Creepy.

What are your thoughts about the Theatre des Vampires?

Even creepier. The vampires hiding in plain sight, getting away with murder on stage because the audience thought it was ll part of the play.

How would you describe the love Louis has for Armand?

A weird fixation.

Was Louis right to turn Madeliene for Claudia?

That one is hard to answer. I can see why he did it, and why he felt he had to do it, but it did not seem to work that well.

How do you feel about Lestat returning and the capture of the group?

Lestat did not come across that intelligent, perhaps because he was still recovering. He did not seem to consider that his actions might have effects beyond what he wanted. That is in character for him, but his thinking processes seemed slower.

What did you think about the death of Claudia?

Claudia was becoming really disturbing by this point. Yes, her death was in some ways upsetting, though I knew it was coming, but she was far scarier than Louis.

Does Giles going after Angelus post Jenny's death have parallels to Louis burning down the Theatre post Claudia's death?

Perhaps some. Both are roaring rampages of revenge, but Giles' revenge was far more focussed, though he focussed too much on causing Angelus pain rather than simply killing him.

What are your thoughts about the Theatre des Vampires?

Effective introduction, but I kind of hate them all still. We’re sorta meant to, of course, and I think it shows well that vampires work with pretty distinctive group dynamics. Like we see in BTVS too, they don’t necessarily love other vampires just because they are vampires, it can be quite the opposite. And small fluctuating groups seem like the best arrangment

How would you describe the love Louis has for Armand?
I don’t know. I never liked Armand, though to be honest it comes partly from seeing the movie when I was young and thinking he was old and gross (sorry Antonio Banderas, I was too young for your charms then!)

Now I can understand Louis intrigue more, but it seems more like a heady infatuation than love, cause it comes on so quickly.

Still not too fond of Armand, because he is so passive, but I am more interested now in the book that is about him!

Was Louis right to turn Madeliene for Claudia?
Yeah, she can’t be on her own, and he wants to/needs to explore things with Armand. He can’t be tied to her forever

How do you feel about Lestat returning and the capture of the group?
I like it, I like this Lestat because it seems like he actually cares about both Louis and Claudia in his own way. I found it both pathetic and moving thst he still wants Louis companionship and I wonder what it was he wanted to tell Louis

The capture is very dramatic.

What did you think about the death of Claudia?
Conflicted, I actually quite like her - kind of like I like Drusilla or Darla - and her death makes me quite sad. It is however very effective, but Louis somehow feels a bit lacking as.a character without her. As problematic as it was - the Louis, Lestat, and Claudia dynamic worked for me.

Armand says he couldn’t stop them and blah blah, but I honestly think he wanted Claudia out of the way so he could have Louis.

Does Giles going after Angelus post Jenny's death have parallels to Louis burning down the Theatre post Claudia's death?

I don’t know, grief tinged with revenge, so yeah I guess. I do find it deeply satisfying however, and I root for Louis as he kills them.

What did you think about the introduction of the Paris vampires?
I thought it should have occurred to Louis and Claudia before to try Paris, because they knew Lestat was French. It was Claudia who wanted to seek out other vampires, and yet it was only Louis who benefited from it.

What are your thoughts about the Theatre des Vampires?
It was grotesque and disturbing, but interesting in the way these vampires had created a community for themselves. Louis and Claudia are looking for deeper truths, but all they find is vampires creating their own family and rules, just as L&C did with Lestat, though in a different way.

How would you describe the love Louis has for Armand?
It seemed more like a platonic feeling of connection. Louis wanted the detachment and serenity Armand had, and yet he finds it comes at a high cost for himself to achieve that detachment, as a result of creating Madeleine and losing Claudia. He seeks knowledge from Armand, but in the end Armand seems to need Louis to help him escape a life he seems bored with, as much as Louis needs him.

Was Louis right to turn Madeliene for Claudia?
Claudia needed a physical adult to function in the world, so in that sense, yes. But I felt like creating Madeleine broke Louis in some fundamental way, even before Claudia died. I didn't quite understand why, though, and his stated reasons, about the humans who would then become her victims, didn't seem to be the full story.

How do you feel about Lestat returning and the capture of the group?
It seemed rather contrived, just to provide the evidence the vampires needed to condemn Claudia. (And why was Madeleine also killed, when she had nothing to do with Lestat?) And then Lestat disappears again.

What did you think about the death of Claudia?
Claudia was not likeable in some ways, and yet I felt sad at her death. Also, it seemed to sever Louis's last connection to his humanity.

Does Giles going after Angelus post Jenny's death have parallels to Louis burning down the Theatre post Claudia's death?
Both are revenge in broad strokes, but Giles's life is devoted to killing vampires, and his pursuit did not seem as blind and reckless as Louis was.
