Jackal Interviews Marti Noxon

I've said it before, but I really like these interviews Jackal does with the Buffy crew. He get into the geeky, nuts and bolts stuff others don't, but I wish they did.

It's a healthy sized interview, and there lots of interesting stuff in it, like the studios used to make Marti cry when she was doing Point Pleasant, and Joss was hands on involved during Season 6.

I'll post a short section of some of the nuts and bolts stuff I was talking about, but it's really worth a full read by clicking the link at the bottom.

J: Okay, now I have a bunch of really geeky questions about plot points… Maggie Walsh was supposed to be the big bad of season four, but Lindsay Crouse was unavailable – that’s one rumor I heard. Is that true?

MN: Yes, that’s true. That is actually true.

J: Do you know what she would have done or did you never get that far with the plans?

MN: No, we never got that far.

J: Another rumor is that the season five finale, when it was going to be the series finale, was going to end with everyone dying?

MN: That is not true.

J: Last one… season seven, there is a whole thing with Buffy’s resurrection being the cause for the First Evil’s appearance and that was never really explained…?

MN: I know that we had a rationale. There was definitely a reason but it was never very clear. But we had one. We talked about these kinds of things endlessly. Nothing was ever, at least for us, not explained. But I’ll be damned if I remember what it was.

Awesome interview! For some reason I love Marti and reading her interviews. I'm gonna favorite this one.

I've noticed people always seem to ask her about season six. People still blame her for those changes even though it's obvious they're changes Joss wanted. Why don't people want to put blame on him? (Although, personally, season six is awesome in my opinion, the darker tone is great.)

And I wish she had explained more why the studios "made her cry" with Point Pleasant. Based on all the interviews I read, that wasn't a good experience for her, with where she was in her life and everyone involved in the show wanting different things...which sucks because after that she said she was done with genre (which I hope she changes her mind about).
