James Marsters had great chemistry with David Boreanaz. He also had good chemistry with Amy Acker in episodes like "Just Reward", "Unleashed", "Hellbound" and "Harm's Way". And when she became Illyria, the chemistry remained (I wasn't that impressd by the Wes/Illyria interaction). There was a great deal of potential of between him and J. August Richards, as well. He even had chemistry with Sarah Thompson and Christian Kane, respectively. He didn't interact at all with Andy Hallett.

The big disappointment turned out to be his scenes with Alexis Denisof. Marsters, Denisof and Anthony Stewart Head are considered the best actors on both shows. Masters and Head has shown on-screen chemistry and so has Denisof and Head. Yet, Marsters and Denisof's one major scene together in "Numero Cinco" was so disappointing and flat. Denisof has proven to be the one actor in Jossverse that Marsters had created no chemistry with.
 
Can you please clarify the initials. Most are easy to figure out, but it may not be the case for some others.
 
One scene in a rather standard episode is not enough to judge chemistry on.

Just a stab at the names (may wanna re-read nerd4hire)

Well, speaking as a James Marsters fan, I have to admit my first reaction to this is to smile and shake my head, but what the Hell, let's assume you're actually serious, and search the post for anything like crediblility, just in case you do really want to be taken seriously.

First of all I have to say this practice of presenting outrageous statements as accepted fact without any kind of support is what makes me suspect you're just joking.

For example when you say, "Denisof and Head are considered the best actors on both shows", it isn't that I don't agree with you, but I've never seen any kind of general consensus on this matter. If you were to post a poll on this, I'm not sure you would get the results you're hoping for. So how can you state it as fact, when there's no evidence to support it.

I agree with Cordelia when she says you should clarify the initials. When you said AH I assumed you meant Alyson Hannigan. Saying there's no chemistry there would of course be ludicrous. Xander says you mean Andy Hallet, so I'm going to now assume that's who you mean.

I also agree with Xander when he says you can't come to a conclusion of a lack of chemistry based on one minor scene as with Denisof, or the lack of scenes as with Hallet.

But speaking for myself now, I don't know what you saw in that Spike/Wesley scene from Numero Cinqo that allows you to suggest a lack of chemistry anyway. I thought it was pretty good.

This is the one you're talking about, right?

It tells of an epic, apocalyptic battle and a vampire with a soul who plays a major role in that battle. And there's the suggestion that the vampire will get to live again.

When you say, "plays a major role in an apocalyptic battle," you mean like, um...

The text isn't specific about the battle.

But it's specific about the name of the vampire with a soul.

After reading this, I came to the conclusion that you probably don't like me or my opinions and the above post was just another dumbass attack by you. I guess that in the end, I don't really care what you think. I'll stick to the opinions of others, thank you very much. :toiletcla

No LL, please don't think that way. It isn't a personal objection to you personally. I really don't mean in that way.

What I object to is when people state opinion as verifiable fact, when it's really just opinion.

I apologize if you feel personally attacked, but I won't apologize for suggesting you and others support your arguements. In fact...sorry, but get used to it.
 
I really didn't think it was necessary to use the exact words - in my opinion or I think in my post. Did you? I had posted the exact same message on another forum and ended up in an intelligent exchange about Marsters and Denisof's scene together in the "Numero Cinco" episode.

Again though...opinion as fact. I'm glad you're enjoying your conversation on the other board, but you're representation of it as an intelligent conversation as opposed to this one might be subject to interpretation.

As for the opinion in the original post...watch. I think I can show you what I mean by editiing it.

You see what I mean right? The original post was dictatorial in tone, and a statement of opinion as fact, yet the substance of the post can be easily presented as opinion, rather than creating the feeling that Marsters and Denisof are in some way deficient as actors, or presenting this assertion as an incontrovertible fact.

And believe it or not if you had chosen to simply present the opinion, "we have yet to see any real evidence of chemistry between Spike and Wesley", I probably would have agreed with you.

Do you see what I mean now?
 
I think that while they didn't have a ton of scenes together, they didn't lack for chemistry. Their scenes together in Lineage were nice.
