James Marsters has played an evil vampire and an evil android – but now the Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Smallville has a new role: Happy groom-to-be.

Marsters, 47, recently proposed to longtime girlfriend Patricia Rahman, 24, a student of fashion design, in Trier, Germany, his rep tells PEOPLE.

Marsters, who is also a musician and played with the band Ghost of the Robot, met Rahman at a concert in Amsterdam. Of their first meeting, Marsters told PEOPLE in 2006, "I met her backstage and got her phone number, but then my jeans were cleaned out by the crew and they threw it out. I'd given her my number, but she took down one digit wrong. It took her six months to call all of the different combinations."

The couple plan to wed this fall. Marsters will next be seen in the new CBS series Hawaii 5-0.

Um... Congrats to him. 😀 Although I must admit, the age difference is a bit... Questionable. I mean, he could be her father, and 24 is a pretty young age to be married at.

Congrats to them. The age difference is no big whoop. I mean, it might be somewhere down the line but who knows? lol @ the six months to figure out his number bit.

Well that is lovely news. It's his second marriage right? and yes, that is quite the age gap. Apparently they exchanged numbers after a concert - he lost hers and she wrote his down wrong and spent the next six months trying all combinations until she found him. Sounds like the plot of a romantic comedy or a Mills and Boon 🙂

Look at it this way, when James takes his son to Sea World or a Wiggles concert, he could kill two birds with one stone, and bring his Wife along as well 😉

(full disclosure: I stole that joke from Leno, when he was mocking Richard Dean Anderson (MacGyver) for dating a girl less than half his age, TO HIS FACE!)
 
The age difference is kinda too big for me, like when he was 21 she wasn't born yet, or when he first appeared in Season 2 of Buffy she wouldn't have been allowed to legally buy the season 2 box set (pocket money aside)! To each their own I guess, best of look to them, but personally ewwwwwwwwww.

Congrats James 🙂 As for the age diff, it's fairly excessive but it's hardly a first is it? Hefner, I'm lookin at you !!
