Remember Dragonball Z?! Well James Marsters is cast to play 'Piccolo'... That's right, the green guy... Woah. I don't know whether to laugh or cry about it lol. Can you imagine him looking like this?

Sorry if there was already a thread about this somewhere else. 😛

Movie information: Dragonball (2008)

Kudos for sharing!.... made me laugh (scary part is-- I can picture it!) :-S
There is a thread aorund here somewhere. Anyway, I heard and I'm really excited. I love Dragonball Z and having James Marsters play Piccolo would be awesome. Although I see him more as Vegeta.

My brother used to make me watch those cartoons. There always seemed to be some huge fight going on with characters flying about in the sky and stuff. It's not something I ever got into, but if JM is in it I'll watch it 🙂

Isn't Dragonball an Anime? Are they making a movie?
I used to watch it when i was around 12/13 years old, but then at one point all these fights were just getting so annoying (really, some span over like 20 episodes, which is about a whole month (if aired daily) of the same fight) so I stopped watching

The awesome James Marsters' involvement notwithstanding, these cartoon-to-live action movies ("Fist Of The North Star" (1995), to use one example), or even the video game-to-live action movies hardly ever turn out well.

I just hope for JM's sake that this venture ends up being a good thing.

I'm actually really looking forward to this, I've got a feeling it's going to be great! I would envision JM as Vegeta also.. But I guess he was chosen as Piccolo for a reason.

This was such a lame show, hopefully they can make the movie bearable.

I remember watching an arc (because my brother watched it every day) where the final 5 minutes of some planet took place over the course of A FREAKING WEEK.

Lame, lame, lame.

Haha I know which part you're talking about Randy Giles. That was really ridiculous, especially cuz every few episodes they made a point of mentioning that the planet was supposed to explode in 5 minutes.

Anyways, the show was ok, atleast I thought so when I was a kid, some of the characters and battles were sort of interesting. It would've been better if the inane dialogue had been cut down a bit.

I don't see how the movie will do that well...the series isn't even as popular as it used to be and it seems like something mainly kids are gonna see.

Transformers turned out good, and I'm not just saythat because I have about 100 of them in my living room, but I get what you're saying.

Oh LORD have mercy please tell me that's not true? I know he did the Superman cartoon movie as Lex Luthor but geeze! Now he's in Dragonball Z!? Oh lordy ... I dunno how to react to this one lol

Isn't it a Dragonball movie, rather than a Dragonball Z one? I.E., set when Goku was still a teenager and Piccolo was his arch-enemy rather than a grudging ally.

Anyway, it was a manga before it was an anime - that wasn't quite so stretched out and annoying.

The film does look awful though.

Well said (for the top part), I dunno how awful it'll be
I looked at the pic first and I must say that it just made me laugh. The trailer made it look a bit better though so maybe I´ll take a look after all. And no I never watched the cartoon.

Didn't they already do a live action movie version of Dragonball with folks flying through the air, kicking the heck out of each other?

I think it was called Matrix Revolutions.

There was a live action movie released in the 80's in Japan. I've seen it. It was one of the worst movies made.
