James will be shooting an episode of the new WB series "The Mountain" later this month. He will play the character of "˜Ted Tunney' a handsome, charismatic, outgoing former rock and roller. He is a likeable guy who famous for wasting his occasional sober energy on get rich quick schemes. He is the kind of lovable fool who inspires both frustration and compassion.
As soon as we have an air date we will let everyone know. Stay tuned.
 
Thank for the info. Very interesting. Is this show any good do you know? And will it ever air over here in Britland?
 
I'll still watch it though, well -- last wens. I told myself I was never gonna watch that show, Damn!!!! Oh well--- just ta see James, I've been jonesing for him------ I'de be there if he were reading the Websters Unabridged Dictionary or even if he made an appearence on the ol' color bars of the tv- :tongue05:
 
happy to see james again...but if i'm not mistaken isn't this the show that is in Angel's old time slot on the WB??? Wednesday nights just don't feel the same anymore

I know, it's tough but for James I'll break with my boycott of the WB. Happy to see him getting back out there even if it is a bit too stereotypical. Didn't he mention them always calling him for roles of rockers, druggies etc. No matter, he'll do more with anthing he is given to work with than most actors could ever manage. He is a frelling genius.
 
I hav been viewing the trailers off this and it is probably a show I would get into if we got it over in the UK, good one James!!! 😀

SPIKE RETURNS: Here's something I never thought I'd write: You have to watch The Mountain! Actually, just the November 3rd episode. That's when Buffy/Angel grad James Marsters guest-stars as the father of the Penn Badgley character. According to a WB rep, there's "a chance" Marsters could recur - which would mean you'd have to watch more than one episode of The Mountain. Scary but true.
 
I've been watching the Mountain. In my opinion, the show is actually good, although it moves a little too quickly. I don't care that it replaced Angel. The WB canceled a television show, they didn't burn down a village of innocent christian virgins. I don't see the big deal. Anyway, I can't wait for James to appear. I'll have to record it.
 
I haven't been watching 'The Mountain' yet, but maybe I'll start watching now that James is going to be in it. It also has the producers of the OC, so it should be good.
 
It's actually one producer, McG. I believe he directed the last Charlie's Angels movie. I don't know if I'm going to watch it.

If James is in it you have to at least watch the first episode, a serie with in James can't be so bad. Is The mountain a big serie? then it maybe will come to Sweden!

Sorry if I missed it elsewhere, but I wanted to be sure that everyone knows that it's supposed to be the episode that airs on November 3rd titled "A Piece of the Rock". 🙂 If you don't mind spoilers, tv tome has a synopsis for the episode at:

ETA:Part of a new message by his manager on James' official web site talks about "The Mountain":

"James is filming his episode of "The Mountain" and having a great time exploring a different character for a couple of days. The turnaround will be very quick as the show will air on November 3rd and although just an episodic guest star, I think his fans and supporters will enjoy seeing something new."

I don't know if this has been mentioned anywhere else but James Marsters will star as Ted Tunney on the WB show The Mountain. He's a guest star and he'll be on the November 3rd episode I've heard. This is the information I got about Ted Tunney:
Ted will be a handsome, charismatic, outgoing former rock and roller. He is a likeable guy who is famous for wasting his occasional sober energy on get rich quick schemes. He is the kind of lovable fool who inspires frustration and compassion.
 
Jack & Bobby and The Mountain are swapping timeslots, so TM will air Sundays at 9 pm, beginning Oct. 31. Since that's the week that James guest stars, he'll probably appear on the Oct. 31st episode.

I was wondering about that -- whether it will be on the 10/31 now or on 11/7. ???
 
Air Date Changes

ETA: Per www.jamesmarsters.com, the air date for the episode with James will now be November 21st.

(Posting after myself, but I didn't want to edit the previous message a second time. 😉)

With the time slot swap between "The Mountain" and "Jack and Bobby", the episode with James (titled "A Piece of the Rock") would have been scheduled to air on November 7th, but since that's Sweeps Week, the WB is showing "The Fellowship of the Ring" on the 7th. So, that means that the epi with James won't be shown until November 14th from what it looks like. The WB should have more info up soon as far as their November schedule.

There is a thread about it in the "Latest News and Announcments" section, but hey, we can never have too many posts about what James is appearing in, IMO. 😉 I just posted this info in the other thread about the air date changes:
