James Marsters to Shave Head for Charity

He is such a cool, class-act sort of guy, IMO! 😀 I think that he was awfully brave to have done that on television, especially when he works in an industry that is so dependent, often times, on looks.

I don't want him to shave his head cause his blonde gives him the spike character.. but i guess he won't need it anymore.. and its for a good cause.. thats really sweet of him to do that.. so Go James!! :: wacko :
 
Not as bad as I thought it would be...I like it! But, still loved the bleach blonde look...
 
As you all know, James shaved off his "famous blonde locks to help raise money and awareness for the Elizabeth Glazer Pediatric AIDS Foundation" on the Ryan Seacrest Show on 4/27. The top ten donors were to receive "a personalized autographed photo along with a lock of James' hair."

Here's a little follow-up information about the donation amounts, per Sherry Vrooman of the EGPAF on 5/24/04: "I believe the exact amount was $24,900." She goes on to say that more donations may have come in since the report was run that she had on that date (5/24). I thought that this part was interesting: "One woman generously donated $5,000 and another $3,000 for a lock of hair. The lowest donation that garnered a lock of hair was $1,000. Many donations were made in his honor ranging from $20 to $5,00." She mentions that the Bloody Awful Poet Society (BAPS) continues to raise money on behalf of James, donating proceeds to EGPAF, and that "James Marsters has named us as his charity of choice throughout his career on Angel and Buffy."

Alane says that "We also still have three more items signed by Joss Whedon" to put up for auction, and in an update on 5/26, she says over $300 has been raised from the first 3 weeks of the auctions. Go BAPS! 🙂

BTW, I just added it up a bit ago, and if my math is correct, $16,000 of the almost $25,000 donated came from the top 10 donors who "won" the hair and autographed picture. But, any and all amounts donated were great, and most fans donated without any thoughts of "winning" at all; it was done to help support a truly worthy cause in honor of a favorite actor! 😀
 
I've always wanted to say this but am I the only one who thinks James's hair looks like plastic?lol... I think he has nice hair and all but when it's wet it looks like plastic!:😛?::
