I never looked at JM's official site very much but it appears there has been a nifty change in it. James appears to be directly communicating with the fans. Almost like a James blog. Here is an example:
A personal message from James Marsters
"As many of you know I am off to Australia for a week to attend a con. It should be great to meet all the Australian fans (and those who have traveled from afar to be there). I'm enjoying reading everyone's letters and cannot thank everyone enough for all the support and love and hugs you keep sending my way. I'm doing great and really concentrating on MacBeth and other great acting possibilities. Lot's of catching up on sleep and exercising. I will write about my Australian experiences when I get back." - James.

Wish we could let him know how much this kind of feedback means to US .

James Marsters Official Site

Yeah, it's great to have the actor actually talking to the fans. It's seems to be so rare these days. It's a nice change and I respect him all the more for it.

Wow That's awesome. I have to say I haven't checked out the site in a while, because it is very poorly run and never updated, but I'll give it a second chance!lol It's so nice that he communicates with the fans. It really means so much to us.

No real news and not directly from James, but a nice, new message to the fans has been added to his official site's home page at: http://www.jamesmarsters.com/home.html

I'm glad that he's getting rest, time with family, etc. 🙂

ETA: A new message from James has just been added to his home page --
"Thank you to everyone for their early birthday wishes and gifts (not necessary!). Way too many to give a shout out to each and every one of you, but I appreciate all the good wishes and love and thank every one of you!" - James"
🙂

What a wonderful thing...I love when actors try and get involved in their fan-base! Thanks for the link!

New Message

A new message was added to the official site:

"James received two awards from E!OnLine: "Star You Will Miss the Most" and "Favorite Drama King" You can check out all the results at www.eonline.com and go to 8/27/04 Watch with Kristin column:

"Thank you E!OnLine for the two Golden Tater awards and a huge thanks to all the fans for voting for me "“ way cool!!" - James"

😀

oh that's great! THanks for letting us know about that cindy. Of course I voted for him, but i didn't expect him to win both. That's awesome

A New Message from James' Manager

There's a new message from Steve Himber, James' manager, on the official site at http://jamesmarsters.com/home.html 😀

"James is filming his episode of "The Mountain" and having a great time exploring a different character for a couple of days. The turnaround will be very quick as the show will air on November 3rd and although just an episodic guest star, I think his fans and supporters will enjoy seeing something new.

Furthermore, James is back in the recording studio and working on a new solo album which should be ready for release early in the new year. I'll keep you all posted. The plan is to have 10 new songs on the album, of which James will have written 9 of them.

For those of you who cannot make it to the London event, we will be releasing new photos of James sometime in November!

Lastly, please do not listen to any rumors about events James will be attending in 2005. Unless you read it on his official website, then it just isn't true!"

ETA by me (Cindy):Since the 2 shows ('The Mountain' and 'Jack and Bobby') have switched time slots, The Mountain will be on Sunday nights, so James' episode should be on November 7th (rather than the 3rd). Even that could change due to Sweeps Week scheduling, so we'll have to keep our eyes and ears open. 🙂

Update and News!

A new message was posted on http://www.jamesmarsters.com/home.html by James' manager, Steve Himber. (I know that several fans on other boards have emailed Steve to see if he'll tell more info about the movie that he mentions, lol.) 🙂

"Halloween 2004 seems to have been a huge success. I've gotten nothing but rave reviews from many guests and I'm told that the boards are full of wonderful stories and memories. I want to thank all the people who worked so hard to make it all come together and thank all the guests who were all so polite and in the best of spirits. I know that James and all of the other guests had a great time. The fans as usual were all amazing ! We will be exploring future dates both in the U.S and in Europe for 2005. We will announce any appearances that James will be at on this website first (www.jamesmarsters.com) In the meantime, James is off for the next 4 weeks working on a film. When he finishes he will be getting back to the recording studio so that he can finish up his solo album. We hope to have it available by March 2005. Again, thank you all for your continued support of James and his career. Watch this site for news and updates."

You may have seen in already, but there's a very nice, new message on James' site at http://www.jamesmarsters.com/home.html --
"A HOLIDAY MESSAGE TO ALL JAMES MARSTERS FANS AND SUPPORTERS"
At this time of year we often reflect back on the year gone by and give thanks. 2004 was a great year filled with new challenges, excitement and unbelievable support. The cancellation of "Angel" came as quite a surprise, but when one door closes then there must be another waiting to be opened. James Marsters' fans and supporters have expressed this time and time again. Some criticize James doing conventions; however, what they don't realize is that James truly loves connecting with his fans and draws a sense of strength from that support. It also allows him to show his appreciation for all the outpouring of love he receives all throughout the year. The support seems to have transcended beyond the character of 'Spike' and is actually for the person/actor James Marsters. It is our goal to continue the legacy of finding other great roles for James to sink his teeth into. I have every belief that 2005 will provide James with those opportunities. There are so many people to thank for all their tireless enthusiasm and support and I wouldn't dare make a list for fear of leaving someone off. For the upcoming year, we wish you all good health, good fortune and to be surrounded by the things and people that make you smile.

All the best in 2005!"

Air Date for The Pierre Heist

New on JM's official site's News page at: http://www.jamesmarsters.com/news.html

"THE PIERRE HEIST" will air March 25, 2005 on the USA cable network 😀

FYI, the site also posts a link to a picture of James from the movie; the picture was originally obtained by a fan named Moscow Watcher with an article that she did for a newspaper about movies about robberies/heists. (though Buffy.nu credits "Alt.buffy.europe newsgroup" as the source....)

ETA:The message is not there anymore, though it may have had something to do with the picture link. Hopefully that is the correct air date for the movie. 🙂

New Message from James on Official Site

Roving reporting here with more info 😉 --

"Hi everyone -
Recuperating nicely from a kick ass, amazing UK tour. Thanks to everyone who was able to make it such an awesome experience. I was a little nervous about being out there on my own but everyone really gave me the courage and feedback to know it was the right thing. For those of you who don't know about it, check out www.jamesmarsterslive.com which is the UK site and check out some really cool photos from the tour. I had minor knee surgery when I got back and it went really well. I'll be back on my feet immediately and ready to rock on!
- James"

Sorry I read that and saw "I was a little nervous about being out there on my own" and I was thinking "you're 41ish (cant remember exactly)" but then remembered he meant without his band.

Glad he had a cool time, wonder whats wrong with his knee though. Maybe hes trying to copy David. Hmmm...

He injured his knee years ago, playing a game with his son (from what I've read), and it was recommended that he have surgery on it at least 2 years ago. Copying David? Nah. 😉

(BTW, he's 42 and will be 43 in August.) 🙂

New Messages

They're adding new messages to the main page of James' site at http://www.jamesmarsters.com/home.html pretty regularly these days. New ones today include the following, plus they added a third link to the fan Toronto convention pictures. BTW, we know that they mean September 29th in the Smallville message and not August 🙂.

From James' site:
"** REMINDER** The new season of "Smallville" will begin airing this Thursday, August 29 at 8 pm on the WB network. Watch for the series to unfold and James' new character to come and wreak havoc on Clark Kent.

A very special shout out to Vicki Mihajlich for generously donating a teddy bear that is an authentic set piece from "Buffy" to be auctioned off to help raise money for the hurricane victims. It is signed by James and comes with a certificate of authenticity and will be up for auction very shortly on E-bay.

A MESSAGE FROM JAMES 9/23/05
Hey everyone- I'm working hard up here on "Smallville". I am watching the news like everyone else about Rita and hope and pray that only minimal damage will be sustained. Now is the time for all of us to look out after our fellow man, so be kind to one another and remember that every small gesture does make a difference. Everyone be safe and well.

James
