Jay & Silent Bob: The Reboot!

Haven't even seen the first one...
The trailer doesn't spark any interest either.
It really isn't my kind of humor so no thanks.

I have a massive amount of interest in this stuff, a massive amount of interest that it flops before it passes the studio gates.

Wow, Kevin Smith slimmed down a lot though.
 
Saw the trailer for this the other day. It looked terrible!😀 Just not funny at all and trying way too hard. So unoriginal. I think these characters work better in a smaller doses and as supporting characters. Think their a bit past their sell by dates too. But who knows it may surprise me.
 
It looks awful. I think Kevin Smith is quite overrated, though I'd be interested in a Clerks 3.

The Clerks Animated Series was amazing.

I agree. Think his early films were good because he became too much of a name. Clerks and Dogma are still my two favourites of his. Not seen a lot of his recent films.

I don't quite know what to feel about Dogma. Part of it is great, but most of it is just so over the top.

Smith got formulaic quickly. The first Clerks movie feels very sincere. After that, his movies got more formulaic. The distance between Smith and the stoner slackers he creates has widened considerably over the years.

His walrus movie messed me up. I had to tell my friend I could not take it any more. I think it's the only movie I've ever had to turn off because I could not deal.

It's been awhile since I've seen Dogma. Might not like it so much now. I remember enjoying the black comedy of it. Plus Linda Fiorentino is great.

I own all of Kevin's films (except Chasing Amy) and I love the guy. He and Jason Mewes are always so great together. Usually I don't bother with reboots, but THIS is an exception. Kevin uses real life dialogue in his films, none of that namby pampby, watered down crap, thank God. I admire his honesty, outrageous ideas, and his personality.

No surprise that nearly everyone in Hollywood wants to work with him.

@Taake Kevin had a massive heart attack last year and nearly died. Since then, he's eating healthier and exercising more.

I've always had a soft spot for Kevin Smith movies, even if they aren't all that great - he seems like a nice dude with a great love for his wife and daughter. I seen him in person about 10/15 years ago and I think he was at his heaviest then. I'm glad he's healthier, he looks so much better. Although it now emphasises how short he is lol
 
While the 1st was one of his weaker comedy offerings. I'll still check it out. I know that I wasn't expecting much of Clerks 2, but I ended up 💚 it.
I'd like to see Smith do a comedy in the same vein, but not in the 'view askewniverse'. Also maybe a quirky drama?

I got it for free with a magazine. Was worth the watch a hung-over Sunday. But then, I have a soft spot for slightly cheesy rom-com stuff. :P
Jersey Girl wasn't very good. However, think it got caught in the Gigli riptide.

I've always liked him, too, and a couple of other guys put it into really good words recently - he makes movies that he wants to watch. He doesn't strive to make anyone else happy and in doing so, he makes his followers/fans happy as well. I thought that was a pretty good way of seeing it. I personally love everything he's done (that I've seen) new or old, and I will continue to watch whatever he comes out with.

Dogma still remains his best work, though, imo 🙂
 
I loved Dogma - Alannis Morrisette as God doing handstands in a garden is one of those images that stays with you and was definitely what we have come to expect. I hope all their new ventures live up to that.
