How could I not start the Jenny thread, being such a big G/J fan? There's a "Jenny's Death" thread floating around here somewhere, but I want to talk about her in general.
So, what do you guys think? She's actually my favorite character in the Buffyverse, so I was curshed when she died. But her death scene and the scenes following are done so well, and Passion is my favorite episode.
I recently found this big fanfiction project someone was working on, in which Jenny survived Angelus' attack and is present for the rest of the series. It really got me thinking about how different Buffy would be if she survived. She and Giles could have gotten married, and had a real life... It would have been cool. I think that, at least.

I found that fanfic too. The one on LJ? I've read a few of their stories, and not in order, but it's really sweet. Not a masterpiece, but fun to read.
I loved Jenny too. Her relationship with Giles was one of my favorite parts of Season 2. Her death was very sad, but also amazing in the way that it raised the stakes for the series. I miss her.

Yup couldn't agree more - I loved Jenny too, she was such a great character. She was really funny with her banter with Giles in Season 1 and the blossoming romance in S2 was great to watch! She brought out a side in Giles we never saw before and arguably never see again. She is also extremely hot which is a plus! Haaa

Passion is also one of my all time favourites and my reactions and feelings when I first watched her death scene and the aftermath are so memorable to me even now! I also loved her in Amends when she came back as the First - was great seeing her take on that evil role! The 'Remembering Jenny' theme is awesome too!!

🙂

Have the theme on my I-pod!
Jenny was also one of my favourite characters, and her death really got to me. Her and Giles made such a good couple, I would have loved to see them have a life together. I also have the "Remembering Jenny" score on my iPod.

By the way, I'm the one who started the "Jenny's Death" thread. 😉

I also have the "Vision of Jenny" score on my iPod. I love that scene when Dru looks like Jenny to Giles, it's so sad and emotional.

Yay! Jenny i-pod buddies! I posted in your thread a couple of times; it was a good one!

I think that this picture really represents Giles' postition during the episodes between "Innocence" and "Passion": stuck between his love and his duty.

Jenny is my favorite character right behind Giles. She was witty, smart, fun and real. She made some mistakes but she was remorseful.

Plus having a young, beautiful, witty, fun woman computer science teacher really is groundbreaking for 1996/1997. I am doing an honors project for my BS and I am researching why women don't pursue CS as a career and to see such a stereotype-breaking character so early in the emergence of technology is amazing.

I love Jenny too.

I think her character is important because we got to see what Joss was all about. He understood that the death of a character without audience attachment is meaningless. I probably saw 1000's of deaths on TV, but this is the first one to really affect me. And it was a sign of things to come.

I won't post any spoilers, but there are several deaths in the Whedonverse, and each one is tragic because Joss made us fall in love with the character before they died.

He sure did. Bastard... :(
Her character was both well created as well as well portrayed. Jenny was a fave to a lot of us.

Jenny is my 2nd favourite character, after Giles. I recently started re-watching Buffy after many years and I just discovered this forum today. I'm therefore deligted that there is a Jenny thread 🙂
