I was just wondering.... I knew Jesse/Eric was only in two eps, but do you like the Jesse character? I didnt really notice him much but IMO, he's hot! (in texas chainsaw massacre, anyways) What did you think about his character?

(the reason i started this thread is cause i saw TCM and loved him so i wanted to start a jesse thread)

I thought he was an ok charecter from the little time we saw him, he seemed like a more confindent Xander. I wonder how his charecter wouldve evolved over the years. And what he would think of Xander getting with Cordelia. I always that one of hte mistakes of Buffy was never mentioning Jesse after Welcome To The Hellmouth, and they got over him to quickly.

He was ok but I didn't see enough of him to like him! It's a shame really cos the character might have been a good member of the scooby gang! 😀

Yeah, it could have been really kool if he had lived. Maybe a triangle between Xander-Cordy-Jesse? Anyway, I also think it's sad he hasn't been mentioned since he died. He and Xander seemed to be good friends.

I'm glad the character died, I hate that actor so I was pleased that he was quickly killed and never mentioned again.

I liked him i remember when i saw the first ep i was like "is cordelia stupid?!! hes hot!!!!!!!" but hes not that cute anymore

He was just another Xander, killing him off was the right way to go.
Joss was going to put him on the credits to make us think he would stick around but it would of worked out expensive.

I think he could have been good as a vampire, like him and Xander could have had a mini stoyline going on. It would have been like a version of the Buffy/Angelus storyline in Season two but instead of it centering around lovers it centers around two best friends. Concidering it was important for Xander to see that Jesse wasn't really Jesse anymore they didn't really give him a chance.

He was alright. I didn't get very attached. I wonder if they're going to put him in the beginning of the new Buffy Animated series?

Havent seen TCM yet, but Jesse was alright. Not the cream of my jeans, but pretty funny! I must say though- he was pretty hot as a vamp! :flame:

After they couldn't get Amber Benson for Conversations with Dead People, they were considering getting Eric Balfour to play Jesse/The First, which I thought at first would've been a better idea than having Cassie who Willow didn't even know. But the Willow storyline was pulled off fairly well.

That would have been better. I got annoyed over Cassie being brought back that way, i really liked her, but Willow didn't even know her. But Jesse would have looked older probably, which would be a problem...

I'm kind of glad they killed him off, since he seemed a little too one-dimentiona; (then again, why bother adding levels to a character you plan to kill off?). i think they definitely should have mentioned him in later eps, though, if only as "Remember when you stole my Barbie and then Jesse chased you around the school until you gave it back?" or something. With all the reminiscing that Willow and Xander have gotten to do over the years, it seems a little wierd not to mention a third of the group. Espescially since the whole point of the Jesse character was to hit home with Willow and Xander the realities and dangers of living on a hellmouth, and show them the seriousness of what they were getting into.

Yeah, he was too quickly forgotten. Has his name even been mentioned since he died? I can't remember, but someone please tell me if I'm wrong!
Of course, you could say it's too painful for Xander and Willow to talk about, but mentioning his name from time to time shouldn't be that hard!

I read somewhere that Whedon had originally intended to bring Jesse back as one of the dead people The First personified. That obviously never happened, though.
