Jessica Jones

Finished it! Loved that every main character got an arc of their own just like Jessica did.
I thought the villain was compelling in a completely different way to Killgrave.
I love that this was a superhero show about psychological battles and showdowns as well as physical ones.
And the ending was a real gut-punch. I really love the Jessica/Trish sister-relationship and I'm not sure how it could come back from this (even though I can see both sides).

I agree. At the end when she says to Trish “I lost the only family I had. Again." That is a very loaded comment. Because it's not only does she lose her mother again but when Trish kills her mother, she loses Trish too. Trish goes too far and that severs that connection. Jessica lost not just her mother but her sister that night and it's pretty heartbreaking.

Yeah, she was trying to save her sister but still...:(
I am a little on the fence on the narration thing. I could have probably done without it. The story line was compelling. I cared for all of the characters both the good, morally grey ones and the villains. I think the season was overall good.

I think that is just typical in noir type shows. I feel like they do the narration to allow the audience to understand the main character's POV and internal feelings. Bc just watching JJ or VM without narration, Idk if I would be able to connect to them as well bc they don't really show how they are feeling.

Watched Episodes 6 & 7 the other night. I think the season is starting to pick up. The flashback episode was actually really good. I thought it was to see Jessica and Trish back then. The tie in with the Villain was effective. Normally I hate flashback episodes, but I do think this one served its purpose. I don't think I'm going to like this as much as S1 but my interest is back.

Avoiding spoilers so I've not read any of the above but I'm on episode 3. Yes, it's taking a while! 😀

Just finished it. I think once you get into it you should be pleased with the direction it takes. Some interesting possibilities set up for S3 too.

Just finished it! I know it took me way too long. Dental school is bogging me down lol.

So overall, it was pretty good. Still liked the first season better, but this was still a compelling story.
I was so conflicted the entire time about the villain, because man did they make the villain more morally gray than any other villain besides like one that I've ever watched on TV. I mean I was even routing for the villain at certain points in the story.
I enjoyed the flashbacks and finally getting to understand all the characters a bit more.
I do have to say the ending was a gut punch like @thetopher said. And honestly, I understand both sides, but Trish was sorta making me angry all season with her gotta have powers craziness.
I'm really ready for next season, they have some good material to work with.
