Wow i just got a song that i think you should all listen to, its awesomely funny.

A little something about Josie Cotton
Josie Cotton's 15 minutes of fame came in 1982, via the hit "Johny Are You Queer?" which made it not only onto the airwaves, but onto the soundtrack of an early 80's film favorite, "Valley Girl." Rather than embracing the new wave sound that was taking other Southern California bands up the charts in the ealy 1980s, Josie Cotton opted for the sounds of the 1960s. The synth work that marked the music of the day is kept to a minimum, replaced by deftly written and played 60's-era guitar work. And while her biggest hit "Johnny Are You Queer" is a pretty dopey song, most of the tracks on her Convertible Music LP pretty accurately mimic 60's pop. Of course, the opinions of this listener in 1998 can't change the fact that Josie Cotton couldn't make a dent in the charts after "Johny Are You Queer," nor did she have much success with her follow-up album.

I have no more fascination with 'queers' then i do any other section of society, i just happen to have made comments regarding homosexuality in someway consecutively.
I might ask, what is this mild homophobic attitude you have displayed over these same threads🙂?

I also think you misinterpreted by pondering of this song getting in the charts. I didn't mean because its so terrible, on the contrary, this above song is rather amusing to listen to, i meant because of the possible offensiveness of it. However it is Southern Californiaso i suppose it could be a commentary on attitudes toward homosexuality, or at least someone could say that.

Interesting song. It reminds me of the times I used to sit in a darkenned room, swaying back and forth, desperately trying to break free of my restraints. All the while, Pink Floyd's 'In the Flesh' was blaring in the background.
