yes i think depp is a fox- let's get that out of the way to begin with.

I just wanna say that i watched a film he was in last night called 'the ninth gate'. though the film was pretty crap, depp once again astonished me by looking COMPLETELY different to every other film/tv role i've seen him in.

This is what i've seen him in:
edward scissorhands
sleepy hoolow
fast show episode
the ninth gate
pirates of the carribbean
-pic of him from 'from hell'

every single time he looks (and sounds) utterly different. So my theory is that it's not really johnny depp in any of that stuff and it's just people who call temselves depp cos they don't wanna give out their real names!

well has anyone else got a better theory!!!😡
 
LOL. I like this theory. Johnny Depp is an actor's collective 🙂 perhaps it's the name that actors use if they don't like their perfomance like directors use Alan Smithee. Although I don't think there's anything to be dissatisfied with in the Depp back-catalogue.
I can't think of anything I've seen him in that I didn't like but I must admit I haven't seen everything he/they have done. Perhaps the looking and sounding different thing is just 'cos he's a really good actor 😉

A work colleague of mine said that he watched "The Ninth Gate" on telly the other night and Lord John of Depp made an average film good. I'm sorry I missed it now.
 
o love johnny depp! I don't know about your theory, i've just gotta say he make one sexy pirate!! hehe
 
I don't know about your theory but here's mine...

He's a really good actor and puts a lot of effort into making each character he plays different from each other! This way you don't see him as Johnny Depp but as whoever he's meant to be at the time! 🙂

Anyway, I agree with the hot thing... he's definately hot!

I saw The Ninth Gate as well and thought it was pretty bad, not because of him just because of the plot!
 
That movie was okay, the plot and story upset me a little.

Aside from that, Johnny Depp is an awesome actor. I will watch anything that he is in just because I luv to see him on screen, crappy movie or insanely great movie!
 
I really like the Ninth Gate! I'm a sucker for old/ancient books, and I thought that aspect of the movie was done quite well. It's not a movie that has an overly satisfying ending, I'll give you that, but overall I like it. Johnny Depp kicks ass, and Frank Langella is one creepy dude. I actually saw The Ninth Gate and Jeremy Iron's version of Lolita in the same night and I decided Frank Langella is not a dude I'd like to break bread with, except maybe over his head in a desperate bid to escape.
 
Everyone thought Depp looked ugly in Pirates but I thought he looked damn sexy. Yeah. Everyone was like, ew he has make up on, ew....He is such a good actor. I wanted to see him in Once Upon a Time in Mexico but it was rated R 🙁 🙁 Oh well. Hes the next Willie Wanka!!!!

He also looked damn hot in Once Upon a Time in Mexico. Yum Yum You would of luved him in that flick, I'm sure of it!
 
hes a VERY good actor and can swich from character to character and thats why he's one of my favorite actors!!! I JUST LOVE HIM! I saw nith gate and HATED it....i didnt understand the ending!
 
The Ninth Gate was so over rated, Go with From Hell nayday of the week. Johnny Depp is a talented actor but also a clever businessman, he chooses roles which are unique and different, by doing this he surprises us with his diverse acting range. I personally found his best work to be Whats Eating Gilbert Grape? From Hell and Sleepy Hollow.

johnny depp looks like a guy a now, who is like seening a younger version of him! it's really freaky too see

I agree with you on his acting abilities, carlyh!

He was frickin fantastic in Sleepy Hollow, I luv that movie! I have not seen it in awhile, I now feel like rewatching it. I'll have to go dig it out...thanks for the memory! 🙂

From Hell was a really gross movie, but I do agree he was great in that flick, also he was extraordinary in What's Eating Gilbert Grape!

Personally, I think that he was also a dish in Benny and Joon!

Yeah, J.D. is really a great actor and his amazing hotness isn't a bad thing either...I can't wait to see what else he does in the future...
 
Hmm...I thought there was still something oddly appealing about him even as Edward! I luved his crazed hair do and wide eyes!

I agree - he kicked ass in that movie, Chas! His eyes were so wide and sad and expressive!
