It is lies, all lies! The coffee has been spiked with mind control juice. Then, when you’re all suggestible, that’s when they fill your head with Sineyan propaganda. Just look at @Cohen ! Just yesterday he said that Sineya was the DMV. Today? Totally mind-wiped into being a Sineyan mind slave!

It is interesting—your automatic assumption that I’m a mindslave like those you refer to “cow” in Pylea. Next you will say those cute silver necklaces your dungeon dwellers wear are for pure fashion!

There's two separate spaces that members can't access unless in one of the houses. When you join a house you get access the that area, and it's full of more off topic threads, it more private as well, so you can get to know people better there.
Joining a dorm means you can win points for the House Cup which is given out at the Buffies, we do various competitions throughout the year which can earn points for your house, and whoever has the most points by the Buffies wins the cup.
You can join a dorm any time by contacting Buffy, and saying where you want to go, but if you do it this week you'll earn points for your new house.

I seem to remember it was the head of Sineya who awarded you in Sineya half of the cup and Black Thorn half of the cup. The boss said so, but if you want to argue with the head of Sineya, your choice. Personally I think you need to be taught a lesson = Quantum Arithmetical Mechanics should be a fun lesson for you to learn. And taught by someone the Boss of BB sees as a 'respected' person in Black Thorn.
 
@ILLYRIAN here in the US, the DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) is the worst place to go.

The employees all act like curmudgeons and look miserable, there is ALWAYS an obnoxiously large line ahead of you, and everything takes way longer than it ever should.

So in short, imagine if Sineya was a real place 🙂
