Anyone else feel a bit sad for the guy. I mean if you watched the earlier seasons you may have noticed him. It took me a second showing of the entire 7 seasons for me to notice Jonathan earlier on in the earlier seasons as he would just be there at those perfect moments or in the background.

And then when the Trio was formed it was Jonathan who objected the most. It was Jonathan who gave buffy the heads up when Warren got souped up courtesy of those orbs.

And it was Jonathan who made peace with the fact that they would probably have to die for being apart of warren's schemes and the aftermath.

Hell It was Jonathan who went back to Sunnydale under cover of darkness in order to do the right thing by the scoobies. Only to get knifed in the back by andrew.

It made me sorta sad, it would have been nice if maybe Jonathan went out in a more heroic fashion, it would have been a bit more fitting.

So here is to you our tiny hero!

To Jonathan! :)
I felt sorry for Jonathan. Not like his death caused the same feelings as some of the other deaths on the show. But I certainly did feel sorry for him. Which I did a lot of the time. Maybe not so much in "Superstar" even if I can relate to why he did it. That he can't blame on being with the wrong kind of friends but as far the trio goes that was about the feeling to belong/have friends (which you really can't relate to unless you've been a real outsider yourself). And since there wasn't much options (except being alone) he ended up in the wrong company and since he was easy to mislead he went with the flow. Although still clearly having some conscience and trying to not go too bad while still keep your group of friends. He might not be perfect but who is?

I always felt incredibly bad for Jonathan, he was definitely one of my favourite minor characters on the show. You're right, he was the one to break up the fight in "Grave" and was willing to do jail time for what they'd done. He always seemed to mean well (for the most part), I much would have rathered have him around in season 7 than Andrew in all honesty.

I felt so bad for Jonathon! You could see that the porr guy had a good heart. I didn't care too much when he died, but know that I think about it, it kind of make me sad that he went out that way!
And I stand by my opinion that Andrew was hilarious and Tom Lenk is amazing! 😛 I don't think I would have like Jonathon is season 7.

I loved him! He was my favorite of The Trio, and while I had grown to love Andrew later on, he really got on my nerves at first. I wish he didn't die.

I'm split.
I loved Jonathan's character. I could relate to him so much, and I completely understood all of his actions on the show and I wish he could have survived with/instead of Andrew.
On the other hand, I think he got a good ending, having come to terms with his life and his less-heroic actions during his time with The Trio.
Honestly, I think Jonathan had reached the end of his journey with his revelation in the basement. I would have wanted to see him survive (He deserved it way more than most others who survived *cough* Dawn *cough*), but it seemed fitting that he died in a way that nobody except Andrew really seemd to rememeber or feel sorrow for him, because that was how he started off in Season 2, a minor, present, but barely remembered decent person who just wanted to be accepted.

I started off more or less indifferent to him, throughout the trio saga he began to grow on me, first with making me laugh "don't touch my magic bone!" and then when he showed signs of being a hero - jumping on buffy's back to let her know how to defeat super strong warren - and his reaction to andrew thinking warren didn't abandon them in prison, yelling into andrew's sleeve to warren who andrew believed was listening....

but his speech right before andrew stabs him - about how in time all the bruises and stuff of high school melt away and what's left is caring. How he cares about his classmates even if they don't care or think about him. That's what hooks me on him.

I always liked him. Even when he was a bad guy I liked him. He was funny. If you start a re-watch of BTVS you'll be surprised how often he has this two second-showings in some episodes. He was always there up from season 1. He just got his main role in season 6.

My heart always ached a little for Jonathan. He always wanted so badly to fit in and have friends and it just never really worked out for him. He seemed so desperately lonely all the time, and I felt so sorry for him.

I like how they took him from face around school to a bit part character and developed him from there. And of course he has the best last words ever.

I thought it was neat that there was a very minor character that was around throughout the series; but other than that I never really had any positive feelings towards his character. If anything I found his trio story line very boring and lame.

I don't like any of the Trio. Warren, obviously, is the worst of the bunch but Jonathan and Andrew are just as responsible. The way all three of them conspired to mind control women (a plan that supposedly was in the works for a long time, too) in Dead Things was horrifying to me. I don't like the way they avoid blame for their actions- even if Warren was the mastermind, they helped and for months they didn't give two shits about the consequences of their actions.

I like Jonathan up until that Trio business in Season 6 and I like Andrew as a funny background character, but that's about it. They don't get much of my sympathy. I know the writers tried to redeem them, especially Andrew, but I just don't think it works.
