Revolver
Sir Douche
Okay, this is a long story so you might want to go to the bathroom now, or grab a snack or something. You won't have a chance to for awhile, and trust me, after you read what I have to say, you're going to be so angry you won't be able to keep food down for at least a week.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer is internationally recognized as a brilliant series created by Jed Whedon. It had it all: sex, action, drama, laughter, more sex, a sprinkle more laughter, and also vampires. Yes, everyone should be thankful Josh was around to come up with this brilliant idea.
One problem though: I came up with this first!
The year is 1996. I was 13 years old, and enjoyed laughter, drama, action but not sex because my school/parents never bothered to explain that to me. Frankly it still baffles me. Most kids said I was slow. I'd have insulted them back, but it always took me too long to come up with a good come back. Naturally, this meant I spent most of my time alone (I had about as much company as Dollhouse has viewers). I had to get through the day somehow, so I began imagining an alternate universe where interesting things happened to outcasts and whatnot.
This eventually led me to writing it all down. It was about a 16 year old dude named Bobby who one day discovered he was some kind of "chosen fellow." He alone could face the zombies, the hellish creatures, the forces of the night. But he had help from his two friends Alex and Conifer. There was also a teacher at his school from Scotland who had all kinds of knowledge and stuff, an overseer of the kids if you will. Along he way, Bobby fell in love with a female zombie named Angel who had lost her desire to eat brains (human brains, at least). The show was called "Bobby the Zombie Destroyer." I was pretty proud of this idea so I bragged about it to a lot of people. I raised a bunch of money by doing things I can't ever tell my mother, and I went off to Hollywood to try and sell this pilot and make mad $. I wasn't old enough to legally drive, so let me tell you it was quite an adventure. I was so sure the cops would pull me over and destroy my dreams at any moment. I thought to myself how pesky those cops were and dreamed of living on a planet where the authorities couldn't hassle you. Some kind of old west of the future, if you will. I thought to myself, "this is a pretty good idea too, maybe I can sell this one some day." (SIDENOTE: this idea would be stolen too, but that's a story for another day).
Finally, I arrived in Hollywood, New York. I was bound and determined to sell my idea, but naturally I didn't know anybody in Hollywood so I just started telling my story to random people in the hopes of someone knowing what I should do. Among those I mentioned my idea to were two young men: one of them named Josh Whedon, and another man named Marty Noxon (or possibly Marti Nixon, I can't really remember because it's been a long time). Josh, acting like he's my buddy, says, "look kid, that's a stupid idea. First of all, where are all these zombies coming from? And how is it no one in the town of Moonydale knows zombies are real? And setting a series in High School? That's gotta be the worst part of your idea? I could crap a better idea, kid. Beat it."
So I put my head down, and drove home crying to a sad Miley Cyrus song the whole way. Imagine my surprise when awhile later, I'm innocently flipping through the channels on my television when I see a program called "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." My jaw dropped literally to the floor when I saw how similar it was to the concept I'd come up with. It was uncanny, except the main character had been changed to a woman and the zombies had become vampires. Strangely, though the love interest had become a male, they'd chosen to keep the name Angel, which seemed far more appropriate when the character was a woman. And surprise surprise, I happen to notice the name "JOSH WHEEDON" in the credits. I was outraged. I'd never felt so violated in all my life! Taking credit for someone else's idea! I mean, WHO DOES THAT?
I tried to take my case to court, but the judge dismissed it as "ridiculous." Years later, there's still been no justice for me. I'm a broken man. I feel like I should have my memory wiped and someone else's personality imprinted over mine because I can't live like this. Anyway, I'll probably never get the credit I deserve. But I just thought that after all these years, people deserve to know the truth. After all, what's more important than the truth?

Dag, I wish this thread weren't closed. EPIC. Also, I demand you make this... animated style. Fans would totally dig a good spoof. :-P
