"As for other new projects, Eliza is plotting a feature film further down the pipeline with Dollhouse creator Joss Whedon, 45 "“ but coyly refuses to tell us its content.

"I would say that we would [be working on something new very soon]!" she confided to us. "I think we're going to work on a kickass feature together that we've been thinking about for a few years.""

Just heard about this. I'd go see it!
Your thoughts? What do you think the chances of this actually happening are?

OH MY! I never heard anything about this. I SO hope they do! eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. 🙂
I wonder, MmMmMmMMmm.

I'm kind of a little annoyed about this actually.

I am so sick of Joss thinking the sun shines out of Eliza's backside. There are better actresses out there that deserve a shot like this. There are better actresses within Joss's fandom that are SO much better than Eliza, but he ignores them all in favor of her. She's a good actress, yes, but she's by no means the best in this fandom.

I'm not gonna sit here and lie and say that I won't go and see this, because I will and it'll probably be epic, and I'll more than likely love whatever it is. I just wish he'd give someone else a shot instead of always running to her.

Completely agree. Eliza is one of my least favourite actresses from the fandom. I'd much rather see something with Caulfield, Aly, SMG, Amber, really any of the other female main cast members. But I will still go and see it, but just because pretty much anything Whedon does is awesome, and Eliza is still good.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG

YEEEEEES!

Gotta agree with what Lyri said too though. Wish he'd do something with someone else...

They've both said on more than one occasion that they are close friends and enjoy working together, and, the networks aside, they make good stories together Things like that happen all of the time in the entertainment business, the same as any other. As for giving someone else a chance, if you mean one or more of the Buffy/Angel alumni, we really can't be sure that they aren't included in the plans for this project or some other that Loss has in mind, it's more a question of who's available when the time comes.

Personally, I would love to see a movie with Eliza, Amy Acker, Summer Glau, and James Marsters together. It could be about this mysterious private investigator who has three beautiful female assistants, none of whom have ever actually seen him...no, wait, that's been done...

agree on the last paragraph. Summer and James! :D

I definitely agree. I love Eliza, but honestly I think there are better actresses in the Whedonverse that he could spend time on. Why he's so hellbent on getting Eliza to be a household name I'm not sure (although I have my dirty little theory), but I'd love to see him do something for a younger generation with say, Michelle Trachtenberg, at the frontline.

congrats on our awards!
Granted, there are actors just as talented in the 'verse who Joss could be making a movie with, but there's one thing to consider. Joss and Eliza are both out of work at the moment, whereas most of the others are busy.

He should do something with Amy.

She always expresses interest in doing things with him (like, in every interview), and she had to BEG him to let her be in Dollhouse.

Yeah, maybe Eliza and him are putting the old Buffy stakes to good use behind the scenes. IDK IDK LOL.

yay Joss and Eliza! a great team!! 😀 Hopefully something will come out of this, I bet it would be kick ass

Seriously? This is so weird, I didn't see this thread last night, yet I had a dream that Joss and Eliza teamed up for a movie. I think my dreams are becoming prophetic.

That's totally beside the point. So, anyway, this is good news. 😀 I love Joss and Eliza, and whereas yes I agree to an extent that they tend to work together a lot, it doesn't matter to me, I love 'em both, so I'm glad to hear that they'll be doing a movie together. I'm curious to know what it'll be about, though, if it does get made.

For the more rude fans out there, no I'm not singling anyone out: who said Eliza'd be starring in the movie if it happens? Maybe she's interested in producing a project Joss talked to her about. Teaming up can mean a variety of things.

Just sayin'.

If you read any recent interviews, or just looked at what he's been doing, you would see Eliza is his favorite Whedonverse alum. And since she isn't the greatest actress, we're just joking that there is something else going on.

Let's see:

He originally wanted to do Faith the Vampire Slayer, but she did Tru Calling instead.
They did Dollhouse.
A NEW movie?
He ALWAYS praises her, and basically just her, in interviews.

I know that a lot of people are gonna tear me apart for this, but I would much more prefer a "Faith The Vampire Slayer" movie than a "Ripper" TV series, mini-series, or movie for several reasons. Number one, as much as I like and respect Mr Head as an actor, the character of Giles, especially as he is portrayed in Seasons 6 & 7 of "Buffy" and the implied attitude that he has toward Angel and his associates in Season 5 of "Angel" just don't put him in my list of good guys anymore. Number two, because I prefer action in my Vampire Slayer movies, I really don't think that Giles, due to his age, would be realistic kicking demon ass the way Faith would be. Finally, and most importantly, Eliza just looks way better in those tight leather pants than Anthony ever could.

So, shoot me. If Joss actually are going to make a movie within the Buffyverse, which is obviously only speculation and hope at this point, I'm rooting for Faith over Giles, Willow, Xander, or even Buffy or Angel. If they wanted to bring back Spike and Illyria to help Faith, that would just be icing on the cake. They could even toss Dana in for added interest.

Oafft i'm so glad it's Eliza, i know a lot of your are getting sick of her. lol. 😛
but i think she is a wonderful actress, i never really liked her as Faith (at the time) i never knew how good an actress she really was until i saw DH.
Were others watching a different show? I thought her acting on dh was tremendous.
🙂

Amen to that.

And to throw my two pence in, I really don't mind that Joss is always wanting to work with Eliza. They're good friends, and I know he's good friends with a lot of other Whedon alum but producing Dollhouse together must of been like icing on top of the cake in terms of how close their friendship is. If that makes sense.

I agree, I'd much rather see Faith the Vampire Slayer then Ripper.

But I swear to god if he puts spike in the 2nd (fictional at this point) Buffy spin off, I will not be impressed, talk about overuse.

With Faith, there would be tons to explore with, on her own, I would much rather see her with none of the originals, other then a cameo, Faith isn't a group kinda girl!

I liked Eliza's Faith, I liked Tru Calling, and her in Bring it on, wasn't mad on her in DH, except for the Epithets, I think she has to much spunk to dumb it down to Echo like boringness.

Does anyone know the deal she made with Fox, where she said she'd work with them for whatever amount of time, would that include movies or just TV?

I tossed Spike in there just to ruffle a certain lady's feathers, though I do think that Faith and Spike together could be very interesting.
