It may be common knowledge to everyone else, but I just saw in an interview on Youtube stating that, once more, Joss had to contend with a female with a bun in the oven (Downey's description, not mine) Since it's still a couple of days before it's re;eased here in the U S, and given the rumors that have been floating around for months that a team member will die this time out, I can't help but wonder if he's gonna handle this pregnancy the same way that he handled it in Season 4 of "Angel."

Theres one problem with what you are saying, apart from the fact the fact that its a huge leap, and that is as far as I know Whedon is leaving the Avengers after this film, so from that prospective I don't think he would be bothered about getting SJ off the next film.

As far as I know, Scarlett is still tied in to appear in more movies, specifically, Civil War. So, unless Joss wants to royally piss everyone off on his way out the door, he's not going to do the same thing he did to Charisma.

The difference here is that Joss might be the 'overlord' for this series, but he's not in charge of everything. There are other directors and producers involved with the other movies, other writers. So he doesn't actually have the authority to decide that he wants to off a character just because they have dared to get pregnant. Unlike ATS when he had no one to answer to but himself and he was capable of bumping Cordy off.

Possible spoiler for the movie and upcoming movies:

As far as I know, there are only two actors from this movie who aren't tied into any more contracts. So take from that what you will.

Well it was actually because CC didn't give him warning about being pregnant. Not saying that excuses his actions, but just claifying it.

Three.. the third being the one who dies.. hahaha
tied into any contracts
Also, I used to look at stuff like that, but I have since come to find out it doesnt really mean anything. That they are not 'contracts' to appear, they are merely contracts stating if the company wants them to appear they have to. Case in point, Hugo Weaver signed a 6 or 7 movie deal for the first Captain America, but the consensus is that he will never be back. So the multi-movie deal is not a strict guarantee the actor will be in multiple movies. I thought that was interesting.

This is true.
They will just use body doubles, lots of behind the desk and head shots like Claire Danes in Homeland when she was pregnant.

Her baby is now 8 months... She can get pregnant again of course. Scarlett obviously didn't do any, or very few, stunts. For example the scene shown in the trailer where's she's riding the motorcycle it's a stunt double and then they added her face afterwards. On Ellen she called it movie magic how they removed the signs of her being pregnant. A job well done I must say. Even if I don't know exactly how big she were.

As for who dies and will die in future films I'd say it's unlikely that any director can kill off any character without it being given the green light from higher up.

I've seen the movie now, so the mystery is solved, and I never seriously thought that Natasha was in any real danger, plus it must be remembered that we're dealing wit Joss Whedon, here, A K A the Man Who Defies Death. I have no doubt that he set everything up before he announced that he was leaving Marvel Studios. With Joss' track record, (you know who) will almost certainly be back in action in no time. Frankly, I can't see how he was allowed to kill off an established character like that in the first place.

I think it has to do with the fact that
Quicksilver is a character shared both by Marvel and Fox. I think by killing off Quicksilver it eliminates some confusion, but also his 'power' is hard to portray on the screen. The X-Men's Quicksilver scenes were done much better than the Marvel, but.. it came first, so if Marvel was to "do it right" it would look like an imitation of what Fox already did.

Because Marvel and Fox both own Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, I think they said okay you have this one and we'll take this one.. since Scarlet Witch was not shown (or mentioned) in X-Men.

Let's hope that they don't use that logic when they use Spiderman in Avengers 3.

But Sony is working in conjunction WITH Marvel, as opposed to Fox. Just like Marvel canceling the Fantastic Four comic books just before Fox relaunches their F4 movies.

That's because she'd previously had a miscarriage so I'm guessing she was feeling wary this time around, I find that understandable and Whedon absolutely did not have the right to emotionally abuse her and shit all over an established and respectably evolved character no matter what the reason.
