Joss Whedon, co-creator of The WB's canceled vampire series Angel, told TV Guide Online that he doubts the series could move to UPN next year, much as its predecessor show Buffy the Vampire Slayer did after the frog network staked it. "We've talked about the possibility, but it's a long shot," Whedon told the site. A UPN spokeswoman had no comment for TV Guide, but an Angel insider told the site that executives at Angel's production studio Twentieth Century Fox are putting together a proposal for UPN.

Whedon, meanwhile, reiterated that he'd love to have Buffy star Sarah Michelle Gellar make a guest appearance in the Angel series finale, though Gellar has already said she's not interested in appearing on Angel this season. "We'll put out some feelers [again] to see if there's some interest there," Whedon told the site. "We'd certainly love to have her." Gellar is currently in Tokyo shooting The Grudge, a supernatural horror film.

Anybody ever think about campaigning to the sci fi network? Sure it doesn't have the greatest shows on earth and I would really like to see it picked up by a bigger network, but at least it might give Angel a home to end the series in.

I'm still keeping up my hopes. Also, I don't know if anyone's said this...what about FX? Would they consider? My friend at school who watches Angel every once and a while suggested that.

I personally have my doubts too on whether UPN will do it, but as long as FOX is backign ME up, I think they have a serious shot!

When will we ever get any good news? I have hopes, but so many more doubts. I don't like doubts. They're evil. But yea, FOX backing them up can help me be a little optimistic, even though I'm usually a pessimist. Darn half empty glass....

I just don't think I can imagine a world where there isn't one Joss show on, and not in re-runs. I really hope that one of the bigger networks pick it up like Fox or TNT because it might have a better chance of survival. But I'll take UPN!!! Anything to keep it going!
