Joss Wanted Seth back!!!

Seth Green was originally going to join the cast of Angel! A bit of speculation on what might have been.

Jeff Bell, executive producer of Angel, has already stated that Joss planned to bring Seth back in season five of for the role of Oz, and perhaps for season six. His return would make sense especially because of Nina, a werewolf that was introduced early in season five. Oz would have been a perfect guide in helping her learn how to control what was inside her, just as he did. After appearing in "Smile Time", however, Nina seems to have disappeared from the scene.

But this is not all that we could have expected to see had the show survived another year. There were rumors and plans of Alyson Hannigan reprising her role as Willow in the current season, but prior commitments prevented her from returning. It's possible Willow would have been part of Illyrias storyline.

Also, as stated in an interview with Amy Acker, it was originally planned to split Illyria and Fred. In other words, Amy was going to play a double role on Angel, which would have been an interesting spin.

Lastly, the Angel team was going to travel to another dimension for the first episodes, after or during the fight against
Wolfram & Hart's dragon.

I can't help but once again question the decision to cancel Angel, not only after such a strong season, but knowing what we'll miss. Let's cross our fingers and hope that the Angelverse continues in some form, whether it's TV movies, the big screen, or a spin-off, so that Joss and Co. can fulfill their dreams and plans that would have shaped a sixth season.

That would have been so awsome. I would have loved to see Oz again and Willow ::crying:: I'm just going to curl up in a ball and wait till Angel comes on tonight.
 
Very interesting article!!!! Seth on Angel would have been great, and it was neat to see their original intention for Fred.
 
I would of loved to have seen Oz, he was cool in season one. Willow would of been great and twice the Amy, why didn't they!

aww.... I would've love to watch the playoff between Illyria and Fred... 🙁

Thanks WB! We could have cooler storylines. Amy's double roles as FRED and ILLYRIA. The return of Oz (YAY) and Willow (hopeful free for the girl who name I hate). 🙁
 
The return of oz would have been great. Seth is so cool and such a great actor. I'm so dissapointed🙁
 
Damn the world. There's a simple equation of "No Oz = No Happiness" here. ::fire::
