Joss Whedon and feminism

Basically BEG already said what I wanted to say on the subject, Joss might have been an ***hole for firing her for such reason (which I agree with, he was a jerk), but truth is those last minute change did cost him a lot. Being an actress I feel isn't like just any regular job in that department. It wasn't okay of Joss to fire her, but if I was directing a movie/show and had to change a whole season based on one actor, you bet I would be dam pissed about it. It doesn't make it right, but I don't blame Joss for being mad.

I agree, also Joss basically made Charisma's career, she should have had the decency to inform him about something that was going to have such an effect on the show.

Everyone has such great points, and it's hard to day where I stand on this. I think Joss has some feminist traits, but perhaps he was longer to go.

I think BEG and Blaze said all there is to it. He was wrong to fire her,she was wrong not to tell sooner. We the fans ended up paying for it by having Angel drop in ratings (by the way i love season four)but the thing is a lot of people didn't,it was a massive drop in ratings from the highest rated season in season 3 to the lowest rated season in season 4,that's crazy. so it costs all us Angel fans in the end to not have Cordy on the show, and to not have had a season four that was written better for the average Angel viewer. Just sayin
