Followed him the moment I saw the account, before he was even verified (of course, at that point, there were already like 20 people on my feed who'd posted about him being on Twitter now). I love his odd sense of humor there so far.

Writer and filmmaker Joss Whedon has become the latest celebrity to quit Twitter after insisting the constant back-and-forth with fans was taking up too much of his day.

The man behind Buffy The Vampire Slayer and The Avengers signed up to the social networking site at the beginning of 2013 to help publicise his black and white movie adaptation of William Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, and he admits he quickly became hooked.

He explains, "The moment I joined, oh my God, what a responsibility, this is enormous work - very fun, but it really started to take up a huge amount of my head space. I'm making a movie, I got a responsibility, this job doesn't pay very well.

"It's a fascinating social phenomenon... I'd like a job... Until I have a script I truly believe in or a tweet that's really remarkable, I can just walk away and get back to the storytelling I need to do."

lol, since he hasn't actually deleted his account I really doubt he'll actually stay off.

He's a mere mortal like the rest of us, he can't not check his twitter, even if he never tweets again, I bet anything he's still checking it!
 
I'd rather pull my toe nails out, one-by-one, with a pair of pliers than follow ANYONE on Twitter.....

I'm always baffled by celebrities who treat Twitter as this mammoth responsibility, and then lament how hard it is just being them because of it. They seem to ignore the fact that you can, you know, control how much or little you reply.

Twitter, Youtube and Facebook will be merging soon to provide a new integrated social medium called "YouTwitFace". Delete his account on that as well.
