Joss Whedon Says "Thank You!"

Just after the finale Joss posted a thank you message to all fans of Buffy and Angel and made some hopes concerning the return of the Buffyverse on TV. Read what he has to say.

Can't stay long. Wanted to say thank you one more time, to all of you except anyone who ever criticized anything ever at all.

I came on these boards in Buffy's first year and the support -- and even the criticism -- has been more helpful than I can type. I set out in television with one simple goal: to purchase a russian bride. Didn't work out. Immigration stuff -- it's complicated.

But I did get to make this show, and that other one, and that other other one, and meet some of the best artists and the best friends I've ever known.

I had dinner with Tim Minear the other night, and we talked about what kind of show we want to make next.

And it always comes back to the same themes... people getting strength. People helping out. People being thankful for whatever they have, be it power, a decent life, or a fun-tastic russian bride.

And I'm thankful that for the last eight years my cohorts and I got to feel like the superheroes.
'Cause of y'all. I don't know if the Buffyverse is going to return to TV, but I hope so, and I know we'll be putting SOMETHING out there. Maybe on HBO, 'cause I like me some cussin'.

Okay I still leave in the Grand Ty King tradition, but I DO have to work (or issue four of Astonishing X-Men will be three pages long, which I think is kind of not right.) BUT:

And on the subject of Jordan Levin, i do want to say this much: I'm not down with his decision and I never will be, but I've worked with jordan since the start of Buffy and he has always been a supporter and a decent guy. His job is a soul-sucking nightmare. And he's not prom king tonight, no sir, but he's part of why we got to have ten years total of shows on that network -- shows that wouldn't have lasted for... well imagine if they were on Fox. So factor that in. Later on.

Can I get a link to this? I really hope there's another Buffyvers spin-off. I'd like to see a Spike and Illyria centric show. And maybe even Willow can make a return. *Hopes*.
 
I think Joss is soooo much better then we are..Not having any bad feelings towards Levin(or at least being able to hide them from public)...Just hope to see many new things from ossverse soon
 
I love reading things Joss has posted. He's so friendly and absolutely hysterical! Still laughing about the Russian-bride thing! Thanks Magui!
 
He is such a friendly chap, I hope he brings something from the verse we love soon!
