Okay a lot of us talk very possitve about Joss, so I was wondering. Do you think Joss is a God?

Uhhh, a god? Well, no, not literally. I can't vote...it's not that simple.
He gave us Buffy, and all of us are here because of him, his stories are that compelling. In my opinion, that makes him somewhat of a genius.
However, I think most (if not all) of us have a thorn in our side about something he's done. Many 'hate' him for Buffy and Angel being apart, others hate him for killing Tara. I know a group of people that would like his head on a platter for screwing up Willow and Oz.
Events of this last week, discussed in other threads, has made me less charitable to Joss then I've been before. It has everything to do with my pet couple and where they're taking the story. I don't discount his talent for it, in fact if anything, I think that's part of his goal, to make us angry. Not to be sadistic, but to make us care.
So, I hate him, I love him. I watch Firefly because of him, and I want it to succeed. I know people who won't watch it because they dislike him that much. That's not right to me. He's brilliant, and I want to see his work around for a long time. Even though I'm so mad at him, I could spit!

YES! He's definatly a God!
For starters he gave us the B/A universe. They way his shows evolve definately make him a genius. Anyone, who doubts that is really .... not smart!
And though he upset a lot of us and maybe all might hate him indeed! (Well I don't hate him for Buffy and Angel being apart) but I hate him for killing Tara. But hating someone doesn't mean he can't be a God! He knows only nice ("good") things can't exist! There is always something bad ("evil") to happen, otherwise it wouldn't be interesting.

And wichever turns (which we might dislike) B/A will take I will always loyaly watch both show or it's possible spin-offs. That's what being a fan is about!
BTW: A nice thing to know is how I though of this poll, because today I heard in the news that in Argentinia some Maradonna-fans made their own Maradonna-church, and the first thing I though of was ... Joss, a lot of us worship him as a god ... why don't we have a special church of somekind?

Yeah, see, that's why I didn't vote. I have a religion which I'm rather devoted to, so assigning Joss as a god in anything but the purely figurative sense is not something I'm willing to do. It's not even an expression I use often. But I do acknowledge and admire his brilliance.

I understand why some people don't exactly feel right about voting. But, well, I ain't got a religion, so hell yeah, he's my God. In every sense of the word. Just cause I consider him God doesn't mean I agree with some of the things he does (i.e. Willow/Oz, Angel/Buffy, killing Tara). So, same as Diminished_9th, I love him & hate him. But I am happy in life just because of him. Yeah, and I also watch Firefly just because of him. Lol
A god? Definitely not! that's taking it a bit over the edge, I'd say. He is extremely good in his genre and has created a lot of great work, but so have many others and it does not make someone a god.

Well, he's definitely the god of the Buffyverse😀 I agree with all of the above really, I don't worship him but in a metaphorical sense I can see where you are coming from. He's a creator, we all follow his preachings (or shows) and this board could be a bit like a church (am I stretching this metaphor a little?). He could be seen as a messiah of TV though 😉
I didn't vote as I couldn't really decide either but it's a cool idea for a poll🙂

Well we all think he's a genius (don't we)? But that's not the point, the point his, do we really see him as someone, who goes beyond this world, who escaped the matrialistic world and knows how this all really is!

I too understand, why people do not wish to vote, and I respect their opinion. I however AM religious ... well not really, more in a sense of, I believe there is something out there, but I don't go to church or anything. But I also disagree with THAT god!

I sort of have the same view. I say I'm an atheist, but really I believe that maybe there's some higher power out there. In the world we live in today, it's kind of hard to believe in much of anything.Originally posted by Allycat

I definitely wouldn't mind going to church about Buffy, though.🙄 So, if anyone ever really made a church with Joss as God or whatever, heck, I'd go everyday. Lol. Quote Buffy for penance!😉
