Do you think that The First was mimicing Joyce, or do you really think it was Joyce?
 
can we have an undecided option? Because I seriously don't know. I can't decide at all! it really could go both ways.
 
Same here. And what she told Dawn ("She won't choose you") is so cryptic it could mean (or be intended to mean) almost anything.
 
I think it was Joyce. I'm such a damn sucker, too, but I don't care. I have to go with the ol' instinct. It just had to be her.
 
i think it was her. just because dawn had to go through so much trouble to hear a 5 second cryptic message. plus she was glowing and floating. i think if it were the first, she would have just showed up at the door or something and told dawn that she never considered dawn her daughter or something else hurtful.....
 
i believe it was truly joyce. and i agree with raz, 'specially with the glowiness. she looked like an angel to me. also, the whole "..buffy won't choose you" thing seemed like a genuine warning/truth for whatever's to come. i think it's gonna be a really important line this season. and i hope dawn figures it out, cuz i sure don't have a clue to what it means!

Yes, but The First is devious like that, it could be trying to poison Dawn's mind.
