When Buffy sees Joyce in bring on the night. is it Joyce cos she seems to be caring. whne buffy falls asleep at work , joyce is saying evil is part of every1. could that mean buffy was gonna turn evil and joyce was trying stop it, and that is why what joyce told dawn about buffy not choosing her wasnt veryrelevant?
 
Honestly, I have go no idea what Joyce was. Whether it was the real Joyce or the First, she still served no purpose whatsoever. Most of the stuff she said had no follow up whatsoever. She was pointless really, probably just an excuse to get Kristine Sutherland back.
 
it wasnt point less i think it was to confuse us and take us off the track to stop viewers from figuring out how it would end befor the final
 
But who was it then? in her dreams? maybe it was just a dream about her mother on of her future telling dreams and also if it was the first it touched alot of things or can the first touch things only in dreams?
 
no that was of joyce in CWDP not joyce in bring on the night because she didnt wrote it but she did wrote the dawn parts in CWDP
 
in buffy's dreams i think it wasnt the first
but im unsure if it was joyce or her sub-consious
buffy has always had puzzle dreams that are giving her clues to help her but...
in season 4 final buffy's mental dream powers were some how able to draw the others into her dreams
so maybe buffy was able to pull joyce's soul in also

i cant decide between the two what does every-one else think
 
wait when did buffy dream about Joyce? I don't remember that. Also I think that when Dawn saw Joyce it was the first trying to get Dawn to turn agaisnt Buffy or something, i don't know
 
perhaps it might have been the first with dawn but i dont think it was with buffy

I miss the real Joyce....the writers ended up saying it was the first...even though they also said that the first can't be in more then one place at once even though at the same time the first is definatly talking to Willow, it means the writers stuffed up bigtime. I spose they can't always be perfect.
 
I dont think it was either. I just think it was Buffy dreaming....
 
I think somewhere else on this board someone said something about an alternate ending where Xander would've died to save Dawn because Buffy didn't choose her. That would make sense with what Joyce said. I should try to find where that was.
 
I heard about that ending too. But I thought it was just a fanfic someone wrote.
 
That was out of a UK Buffy magazine. They were only rumours on the internet, not like Alternate Scripts Joss wrote.
They included, Xander dying to save Dawn, Anya not dying, and appereances by several characters like Joyce, The Master and Glory

There was no indication that Willow and Dawn had they're 'meetings' with the First at the same time.
