joyce's behavior

does anyone else think that joyce was a horrible mother? think about in school hard b4 she knew tht buffy was slayer she let buffy walk around the school and try to fight the vampires. also when she found out buffy was a slayer she kicked her out even though she knew it wasnt buffy's choice to be one! and my final one is that in season 3 when buffy was missing while giles was out looking 4 buffy joyce didnt look and blamed giles 4 everything!!! sorry this is sooo long!!!!
 
I dont think she was a bad mother at all, Buffy told her mother to let her handle this in School hard and Joyce knew that Buffy could take care of herself, she did after all burn down a gym and Joyce couldve sent her to Juvi for that but she didnt.

Joyce wasnt in the straight of mind when she found out buffys little secret and she was speaking before she was thinking and Joyce still had a job she had to do when Buffy ran away and she wouldnt know where Buffy would go while Giles had the contacts and he mostly just followed them.

If I were Joyce and just found out my daughter was a slayer who kills demons and her watcher who I just thought was a teacher and has been teaching her how to kill demons and everything I would blame him to.
 
Also, as far as Joyce not running around looking for Buffy after she left...well she probably didn't want to stray too far from home and the phone, just in case Buffy called/tried to get in contact with her. She had lots of backup with Giles, we already know he loves Buffy like a daughter and would be doing anything he could to find her. Just a thought!
 
Joyce was the best mom ever!
She cared for Buffy, and for Dawn, even after she found out about she was the Key, and she always put everyone before herself!
No way is she a bad mom! She had to go through a lot, just like Buffy did!
 
I agree Male Slayer! Also, put yourself in her position. your daughter tells you it's her destiny to fight until she dies young. Would you react in an extremely rational manner? I know I wouldn't.
 
darn u guys and ur good arguments-lol i just think she was a little weird but i know she loved buffy
 
Compared to other mothers joyce did a damn good job! she even read the books!

I think with all mothers or parents have to make some decisions, and may make the wrong one, if that makes sense
 
Did you know Joyce was originally supposed to be an 'invisible mom' where they didnt show her, ever, like Xanders parents, but Joss felt that Joyce was needed!
 
I dont think Joyce was a bad mother... yea i think she made a few bad calls but that is gonna happen, nobody is perfect.
 
Dude - Joyce rocked!

My mom's a lovely woman, but she never brought home any cool tribal masks that posses you when you put them on.
She also never hooked up with any of my high school teachers. Which I'm sure my dad appreciates.
