I was very quiet for several years. I belonged to several "clicks" but never fully felt like I had both feet firmly planted in any one. Sorta the drifter sort. Relationships were alway pretty easy, but I never really felt a need to be the "life of the party" sort. When I was 16, I moved out on my own, my parents felt that I was more than capable of doing it, so they left me to my own devises. The next four years were very difficult. I moved to anouther state, made new friends, and slowly( and unsteadily) found my way. It was not on any path I had ever envisioned myself taking. I found my voice, I realized what I felt was right and wrong, and tried to live by those rules. This is easier said than done. Many people came and went in my life, but those who were to last made their mark in my heart. Relationships, however, got to be much trickier, as I realized that I was never as selfless in them as I should have been. I fumbled around for a while, never finding the one that completed me, as I her, and became a little resentful of those who made it seem easy. A few more years pass by, and I find that with time and understanding most thing are possible. I no longer worry about finding the right one, since to take a relationship for fear of being alone is as dishonest as cheating, and if you cling to someone for the wrong reasons, it will only lead to ruin. Some things never change, some things come easily, some change without effort, and some only while kicking and screaming. I am not perfect and will never be close (noone EVER will), and I have realized that is a comfort, and that is what makes each of us special.
