Just Because They're From Buffy

Well I used to have "Wrong Turn" and "Harvard Man" because of Eliza and SMG, but I got rid of those movies a while back. (and "See Jane Date" with Charisma)

I still have "I'm with Lucy" though which I got because of David Boreanaz, but kept cause frankly it's funny.

I've got a lot of other SMG movies but I only keep them if they're good. 🙂

Problem when it starts is, sometimes you don't even know if you like that movie for what it is or because of the actors. For example, in the first time that I watched "P.S. I Love You", I really really liked it. It was fun. Now I watched it for the second time and I'm like "huh. Really?" I can't see why I loved it in the first time, it's kinda boring. Now I don't know if I watch it for James or because it's good. Because it's not as good as I thought it was. But James is fun to watch, so maybe I just had fun watching it for the first time because it was fun seeing James. Huh....

Pretty much the only reason I started watching How I Met Your Mother was because it had Willow and Dr. Horrible in it.

I'm guilty of watching something or wanting to watch something because there is a Whedonverse connection, no even gonna lie. I don't necessarily own anything because of that connection, however... Unless you want to look at Shadow Puppets, which was all about James Marsters.

I saw PS, I Love You because of James, also... and I loved it, even though I've never been a Hilary Swank fan. Honestly, I hesitated seeing it because of her... then of course, I found out Jeffrey Dean Morgan was in it too, so I had to watch 😉

I love the American Pie movies, but that did not stem from a Buffy thing. Although, How I Met Your Mother totally did... and the only reason it had staying power was because of Aly and NPH (although I'm feeling a little less than satisfied lately... I think it's gone downhill a bit).

I loved Bring it On, and Eliza only helps that... and of course I own Tru Calling and Dollhouse... And then there's Bones, which initially was all about David Boreanaz for me, but now it's such a great show, and he makes it great, but even if he didn't have that Buffy tie, I would still love it.

Typically, I have no interest in owning something unless I absolutely LOVE it (Shadow Puppets excluded... I liked it the first time around, and never watched it again). Buying and owning movies/tv shows is like an investment. If I'm not going to absolutely love it and watch it thousands of times, there's no real point in owning it... just saying.

I'm the biggest James fan on the planet (I could take any of you on for that title).... but if you watch PS I Love You for James, it's one of the most boring movies ever. He'll admit to that too. He knows his character was a boring guy and his words "When I watch it I'm like "this guy is so dry! Oh god he should have a guitar in his hands at all times!" And it sucks because the one time I DID have a guitar in my hands in that movie, it got cut. Great deleted scene though. You should check it out." But the movie in general is fantastic.

I own Psycho Beach Party because Nicholas Brendon is in it, and the movie is awesome. I watch episodes of shows I don't watch just because Nicholas Brendon appeared in them like Private Practice and Criminal Minds. I also really loved Kitchen Confidential before it got canceled.

yes, Psycho Beach Party is awesome! :D
I remember now, I had the American Pie movies, I never really liked them I just bought them cos of Alyson Hannigan, but then I sold them. And I'm not gonna buy them again, they suck!
I used to also have Can't Hardly Wait with Seth Green, which I like, but I sold it.
The Grudge (bought it before I saw it), I sold it.
Cruel Intentions, ok movie, but I sold it.
and there's a bunch of other movies that I used to own but sold them..

The only movies I own now is Scream 2, Psycho Beach Party, Slither starring Nathan Fillion awesome horror/comedy, Hatchet with Mercedes Mcnab and the first two Austin Powers and I really want to buy Valentine, but I would own them even without the actors.

Oh and I was super opposed to American Pie just because I've heard the line "this one time at band camp" WAYYYYYY too many times. And while band camp is a sexual sexual place... there is A LOT more to it. Then I watched it for Aly and I found her character was like a real band kid. There were like a hundred+ "this one time at band camp"s that weren't the one with the flute and the... So now I just hate all people who think that line is the funniest/bestest thing ever.

I have watched things just because people from Buffy are in them. If I don't like them it is ok but I just move on to the next one. I will say most of my Sarah movies I always loved especially I know what you did last summer and Cruel Intentions regardless if she is from Buffy. I will admit though I watch some of them and think they are bad but go hey at least this person was in them. I bought Valentine for David and I really started watching bones because I needed some more David I am a little Rabid over David I can admit that.

I buy lots of movies just to see a special actor / actress.
Think it's a great way to see movies you wouldn't bother to watch otherwise.

Replace "buy" with "watch" and it fits me perfectly.

Do you own/love certain films and tv shows that have Buffy cast members in them
Quite a few. Bones, How I met your mother, Leverage and Castle stands out. And if you want to count in Veronica Mars, since both Alyson and Charisma are in a few episodes, feel free to do so.

that you own/love just because of those cast members?
I own the first three American pie movies which I wouldn't if it wasn't for Aly, but other than that no. Having a certain actor can make me watch something I otherwise wouldn't but I don't love or buy anthing just because of them. Any more, I should add. In the olden days, before it was easy to watch/get things online, it happened. Not whedon actors but others. I didn't regret buying the American pie movies at the time. Now I wouldn't bother and if I could sell them I wouldn't mind.
