Just finished a "Firefly" rewatch...

It never fails to amaze me how awesome this show is. I just got done with a "Firefly" rewatch. It was a rewatch for me, but the first time my hubby had ever seen the show and he loved it as much as I was hoping he would. Now he says we have to rewatch "Serenity", too... He had seen the movie before I bought the show, and now he totally understood why I sobbed when

Yeah, Firefly is so good. Sometimes I just get really angry when I think about why it was cancelled, and how cool it could have been in we'd had one more season... *sigh*

Oh that's wonderful I'm going to do a rewatch too, I'm so jazzed because I just found out my best friend Loves both Firefly and Serenity, I didn't see that coming from him. To no surprise his favorite character is Jayne (he's a lot like Jayne himself, only sweeter). So now when he's here for a while we're gonna watch it together for the first time. Yay 😀

My husband and I met over Firefly, and we've been meaning to do a rewatch since we got married... but trying to finish Buffy/Angel (his first time) before Dragon*Con in September so he doesn't get spoiled there. We're going as Buffyverse characters, so I'm sure people'd assume he'd seen the whole thing. Not a ton of time for anything else right now... While we're going as Firefly characters too, we're safe because we've seen ... all ... of ... ... ..

Firefly is truly amazing. I got it on DVD for my fourteenth birthday, and to be honest I'd originally not wanted to watch it. I've never really been into things set in space, barring a few, and I didn't think I'd like Firefly; but I decided to watch it mostly because, well, y'know Joss...I couldn't pass up something Joss Whedon wrote, could I? I'm definitely glad I gave it a chance, though, it's one of the best shows I've ever watched, I'm definitely having a watch through again before Hallowhedon 2 - I only wish I had more seasons to watch. 15 episodes are not enough; Firefly was amazing, and deserved another season, that's for sure, I know there's Serenity, too, but still...A season two would have been good.

haha me too, i just finished two days ago. I'm so glad i bought it on dvd this time! But god it makes me sad that i'm finished already! mmmm:*(
I really can't get over how they never got a second season and Dollhouse did. I love Dollhouse but when i think of it now, it's so unfair that FF never got a scecond season 🙁 I know they got a film out of it, but i still think it would have ended perfectly with a second season rather than a film. :/

The main reason I don't re-watch Firefly that often is because it ends so early.
It's just so unbelievable annoying that I don't like to start watching... sometime I can't help myself though. 🙂

I recently finished Firefly (for the first time), and just finished Serenity. Not going to lie, the last half hour of that film had me in tears.

What an absolutely phenomenal show (and film). If any show deserves another season, it's this one.

No show is for everyone. At least you gave it a chance. That's all you can ask for. And if you're gonna watch it again you can't hate it. I'm happy for every new fan and there's been quite a few since I joined the boards. 🙂

Truer words have rarely been spoken. I've seen the entire series twice so far, Serenity way more times than that.

I think one of the most wonderful thing about a Joss series, be it Buffy, Angel, Dollhouse or Firefly, is that nobody ever really gets it fully the first watch through. His gift to us all is that the writing is so deep, the characters so complex, and the 'verse so beautifully visualised, that there is always some new treat to discover on the 2nd watch through, or even the 22nd.

I have a theory that the first watch through a fan is paying attention to the story, but on subsequent ones they listen more to the writing, the acting, the plot strengths and what is truly being said beneath the surface.

The shows are like onions, peel away one layer and there is a whole new one beneath.

Aw you guys totally reminded me that I should lend my Firefly to my sister for a re-watch! I just got through it recently (and boy do I love that show, sometimes I forget just how much!) so it's time to spread the love 🙂
