So, I just finished S2 literally less than a minute ago. It was amazing. The ending was heartbreaking and seeing Buffy leave Sunnydale was painful. It was the first time I'm glad I'm not watching the original run, because waiting a year to see the next episode would drive me mad.

Overall, I liked how even the filler episodes advanced the plot in some small way. Spike was amazing and yes I completely forgot about the "Annoying One." Evil Angel was pretty cool, the depths of his cruelty combined with the love he shows at the end makes him a very tragic character and the fact that Buffy had the will to kill him shows how strong a person she was. Overall, it improved on S1 in every way, well except the death of Jenny, that sucked!

Yay!
Season 2 is pretty amazing, for sure. It was agony waiting to see what was going to happen once Buffy left Sunnydale, watching it first run... You're lucky you don't have to wait to keep watching! 🙂
Season 2 was my favorite season until I watched Season 3. All I can say is it keeps getting better!!!

Indeed. It only gets better!
That's awesome. I love S2. S3 is just as good, and has some of the best stand-alone episodes of the series. Man, you must have blitzed through S2! It was like, three days ago that you had finished S1.

And yeah, Spike rocks. All the stuff with him and Dru is hilarious ("I can see the stars." "No you can't love. That's the ceiling."), and the chemistry he has with Angel is pretty awesome. I loved the Halloween episode.

The S2 final arc with Buffy and Angelus is probably my favorite of the entire series. It's so tragic, especially the end. But I'm a huge sucker for all the Buffy/Angel love moments, so it always has a special place with me.

Keep posting as you go through S3. Your threads are a lot of fun to answer.

Whaaat?! Jenny's death is so awesome! 😀 Passion is one of my favorite episodes! Not because Jenny dies, but because of the others' reaction. The episode is so painful to watch, but somehow beautiful.

Anyway, prepare for the awesomeness to continue in season 3! Personally, I like it even better then the second one!

Glad you're enjoying it. Season 2 really showed how intelligent 'cult' TV can be and from here the show is just amazing! I wish I could mind wipe and watch it completely fresh for the first time again. The excitement and shock as things transpire was amazing and something I had never felt before or since when watching a show.

HisMrs is right, though, you are lucky that you don't have to wait for the summer hiatus. It was agony!

Finally kudos. You ae ripping through the episodes at an amazing rate. Just don't forget to eat 🙂

It was a great scene and a great episode, I just hate that she died. I really liked her and Giles.

The finale of Season 2 was without doubt the greatest single Bangel scene in the entire series, summing up all of the tragedy, joy, futility, love, and hope of the relationship and illustrating why it can never be, and why it will always be. Plus, it's really the first time that we see what might be referred to as the Slayers' Prime Directive:

"The Mission Must Always Come First."

definitely
The scene where buffy closes her eyes, and clasps the sword - total serenity in her face - then opens her eyes and answers angelus' "what do you have left?" question with "me" sums up everything I love about her.

🙂

Glad you're loving it!

So glad you loved one, one of my fav seasons. You're so lucky you didn't have to wait because the first time I watched it was when it first came out on DVD & I had to wait 6 months for S3 to come out 🙁
