All done, finished the whole series. Now I'm sad because it's over. 🙁 I'll watch again someday, but it will be a while. The first time I saw the end, I hadn't seen the first 6 seasons. This time I was much more attached to Anya. The fact that she died saving Andrew makes me angry and proud all at once. It was also sad to see Amanda get killed in the battle of the hellmouth. Spike's sacrifice, too, but I know he came back on Angel. Now I'll have to watch my Angel dvds.
 
Congratulations on having watched Buffy in its entirety! I feel you pain on it being over; I remember when I reached my last DVD of Buffy and being pretty bummed that the journey finally came to an end. I somewhat envy my friends whom I loan season 1 to as I wish I could have the fun of discovering the show all over again. I usually re-watch the series about every year or two and usually with friends. The banter brings a whole new level of fun to the episodes and gets me to notice things that I haven't before.

Out of curiosity, what were your thoughts on season 7? It's probably my least favorite season but even still is pretty darn good.

S7 was pretty good. Buffy really emerged as a leader, rather than a lone wolf.
I just finished recently but I started over almost right away, so my husband would watch with me. You pick up on all kinds of new things (we're in season 2 right now). The first half of season 7 had me scared. It wasn't at all what I expected and I really didn't like it-I was afraid they ruined the show with the last season. But I loved the last few episodes. Basically once Spike quit being loony things got back on track. I absolutely loved the finale. I don't think I'd have changed a single thing, except maybe Anya dying 🙁
 
Kitty, don't worry. You still have all of Angel to get through and it DOES grow on you I promise. Wait until you get to 'Not Fade Away' and realize that it's really completely over. It's not a happy moment.


Interesting thing I did by accident. On my first watching of BtvS I accidentally missed 'Into the Woods' a few years back. I still haven't watched it. It's like my little life raft so that someday when I'm extremely down I can go back and have one little piece left to watch heh.
 
Finishing it was sad. It was weird knowing that there wouldn't be any new adventures to watch.

Although, watching it more than once is still fun because once you finish season seven, you sort of forget what happens in season one and as you watch you begin to forget the later seasons because you've spent time away from them and it's all sort of new again.

I've watched it 3 times over, just about to finish my forth and it's still interesting to me. And as the others have said, you do pick up on new things and it's really cool when you do realize things you never saw/thought of before.
 
Congrats Congrats! I'm looking forward to seeing some of your first reactions to watching Angel!
 
I saw a couple episodes of Angel before I'd ever seen Buffy. I didn't like them.
But then I watched all of Buffy, then I fell in love with Angel.
I enjoy AtS much better than BtVS.
 
Why wait for watching through the series again? 😉 I'm not over-exaggerating when I say I've watched through all seven seasons at least 50 times, and seperate episodes alone here and there. (It's called obsession, people! 😛)
And there's all of Angel to get through, and Dollhouse and Firefly if you're into other Joss' shows...It's sad the first time it's over, but watching it again can be just as fun, and it's nice noticing things the next few times around that you didn't pick up the first time. 😀
 
The very first couple of times i watched the full series, i was sad that it was over, but becuase i've saw it loads of times, i ddon't get sad anymore lol.
Thank GOD for Angel though ! It was like Buffy all over again!! ( i mean thank JOSS) ha.

When i finished Dawsons creek i felt so sad and down because it was over. 🙁

It's like one of the best series ever! after Buffy and Angel Ofc 🙂
Although i do warn everyone never NEVER watch the last episode of DC.
I know i'll never ever watch it again.
 
The best thing to do is to watch Welcome to the Hellmouth directly after Chosen.

I love to see the difference, it's always great fun. 🙂

I was pretty much in a horrible mood after finishing Buffy, which was pretty recently. My boyfriend insisted that we starting watching Angel but I didn't want to because, and I quote, "It's not Buffy." A week later, we began watching Angel anyway and I slowly began to like it. We just finished the 2nd season and honestly, I'm just anxiously waiting for Spike to come back in the 5th season. :X

Going back and watching earlier episodes of Buffy is hilarious. Buffy and Willow look especially young!

Ditto. I've enjoyed Angel but it's not as good as Buffy. My motivation has mostly been in getting to season 5, and I'm there now, on disk 2 🙂 Spike makes everything better.
 
I have seen the last season of Buffy several time and I still cry like a little bitch. Actually there are several different parts through out both series that make me cry like a little bitch. But that is why I love both shows so much. Every thing just really resonates with me.

I had to register today after seeing this post.
I was always prejudiced towards Buffy, because its stupid name, bad masks, dubbing, teen look...just made it look like stupid shit. But I am a huge Firefly fan so I finally (after knowing about it for 10 years) decided to give Buffy a chance.

I started the marathon on 3.12, and few days ago I finished both Buffy S7 and Angel S5.I didn't cry like little bitch, but damn was I sad as hell.

And then I listened to Once More, With Feeling OST, and THEN I cried like a litttle bitch : ). Especially during the song Sacrifice.


GODDAMIT I AM SAD IT's OVER I NEED MOAR!
I already started watching it again, but this time I will take my time - one episode a day just before sleeping : ).

Btw Angel I did not like much, but it was worth going through the first four seasons because the fifth one kicks so much ass, and Wesley's development was amazing. Fifth season of Angel is the only one that can match any Buffy though (imo of course).

Yes the show certainly hasn't made it easy for itself. But once you give it a real chance... Glad you liked it. Hope you'll stick around and share your thoughts. Dubbing? Which language do you watch it in? Or you mean something in the show? Because if you've watched it in another language that never helps does it? Or is it especially bad for Buffy?
 
Dubbing is the evil of ALL evil. It´s worst than the First.
If I´d depend on the Buffy they showed here I wouldn´t be here... Now Fox (the channel were Buffy was aired) is ALL dubbed, so you can imagine.... how could I manage to watch Bones this way?

Here Buffy/Angel was subtitled just on cable channels... open TV just had it dubbed and edited. It´s like, outrageous.

When I was younger (when I was 15 or so, now I am 22), the show was broadcasted here in Czech Republic, dubbed into czech language and with a name that meant something like "Buffy, the Vampire Defeater". I only saw a snippets on the TV, and the pretty bad masks of the first seasons along with the dubbing, stupid name and its teen aim just made me dislike it. There is czech movie database actually (csfd.cz) where Buffy only has 57% rating, and it is precisely because of this - most people had just seen few disjointed episodes on TV and instantly decided it is shit. When a minority (now I am one them) that took the time to watch it from first episode to the end in original english sound LOVE IT.


I have seen just about every good show ever made - The Wire, Dexter, The Shield, 24, Six Feet Under, Sopranos, Firefly, Red Dwarf, Lost...

But Buffy is the best of them. And I am almost depressed that it is over already.

It was only the dubbing I was wondering over. And if you didn't see it in english I'm sorry. I'm happy to live in a country there dubbing only is done on some kids show. Dubbing is evil for sure.
I also just finished re-watching Buffy, and I didn't realize until near the end of the season that Felicia Day played Vi :embarrassed:. Felicia looks much different as Vi than she does as her characters in Dr. Horrible and Dollhouse (younger, of course, but the hair color and style also play a part).
 
I'm glad you enjoyed it there is always something special about watching Buffy for the first time. I know what you mean about Anya. Hope you enjoy Angel! 🙂
