Hi all.
I am a big fan of Buffy and all things Whedon (well...except for the Dollhouse episode "The Hollow Men" :rolleyes0).
I didn't watch BtVS while it was on the air but found it on iTunes in 2006 or so. I had only read about "Serenity" and "Firefly" and seen some high praise for "Buffy" over the years from critics so I thought I'd try it. I liked it right away. I found some of S1 a bit silly but still liked what was happening with the arc storytelling and by "Angel" and then most definitely by "Prophecy Girl" I was hooked.
I loved S2 and was an emotional wreck for at least a week after Becoming Part 2. S3 had so many great moments and episodes, a wonderful season arc, and great new characters, and I was psyched to know I still had four more seasons to watch. S4 started strong but disappointed me a bit (esp. Adam seemed a bit underdeveloped) but still had a lot of great episodes and moments.
S5 and S6 were also great, with some of my favorite episodes of the whole series. I think I liked S6 more than many people seem to. I liked aspects of S7 but felt like there got to be a bit too much self consciousness in the writing and acting, as happens to many great shows after many seasons. Still, I mostly loved it and was sad there wasn't any more.
Have read a few of the early issues of S8 but am not totally into the format and the more fantastic aspects of the story that are possible in comic form. I also miss the actors. Drawings that look like them aren't the same to me.
