hello all, just joined this forum today after being recommended to by my friend, of which i thank her for 😀
i'm a huge joss whedon fan! and absolutely love all of his shows, my favorites have to be buffy and firefly
i basically love all the buffy and angel seasons besides the fourth one of both, i love most of the characters besides Riley.......Dawn........Connor.......Warren they're just nonos -___-
thanks for reading whoever does and see you around the buffy boards

Welcome to the forum!

Like Joss Whedon shows, check. Like Buffy and Angel except for season 4, check. I happen to like Dawn but the rest of the characters you singled out, check. Sounds like we are kindred souls.

What took me a few days to understand was the word "ship" used to mean relationship. They usually go by elided names such as Bangel for Buffy and Angel, Spuffy for Spike and Buffy, Woz for Willow and Oz etc - you will be able to figure it out soon enough. I am looking forward to seeing your insightful comments, perspicacious musings and any other things you come up with.

I will admit dawn does have her moments, but everyone has their opinions 🙂
and haha why thankyou for the heads up there 🙂 and i'm looking forward to this forum and like wise with you

Welcome to the hellmouth.
I am not familiar with firefly, but I am with you regarding your BTVS/AtS dislikes. Dawn and Connor were by far among the characters that irritated me the most in both series. Season 4 of both series were also among my least favorites, along with seasons five and six of BTVS. Seems like we'll get along just fine. 😉

@Ethan Reigns The use of the term 'Ship' is quite contradictory when you dissect it. We say "I ship Spuffy" or "I ship Cangel" ect, but when considering that the term 'ship' is short for 'relationship' (something it took me time to learn as well), the phrasing no longer makes sense. "I relationship Spuffy" or "I relationship Cangel" are grammatically nonsensual, therefore ultimately so is the term 'ship'.

Hi there and welcome to the boards! 🙂

It's good that you got your likes/dislikes right up there front and centre- this is an opinions/discussion boards after all.

I like all the seasons although I understand what you mean about Buffy s4, it's near the bottom of my list. I like a lot about Angel S4 though.

'ship (in the internet sense) has become a seperate word from 'relationship' since it's both a noun and a verb.

thanks all for the welcomes 🙂 and cordy_chase i recommend you watch firefly its just fantastic 😀 and i like season five and six, its just four for both series that i dislike really haha.
TheTopher i'll admit that season four of angel has some very good episodes. i just think its the weakest season, with dragged out story which is a pretty weak one aswell. But i still like bits of it 🙂
and thankyou very much nix 🙂

Maybe I should have been more clear about "ship". It means a supporter of a relationship. Bangels really want Buffy and Angel together and think they were soulmates. We have had "shipper wars" on this forum before, largely between Spuffies and Bangels.

Welcome 🙂
I've only seen Buffy and Angel, but planning on watching Firefly sooner or later.

haha i think its a sign, fourth seasons are just meant to be bad 🙂
and you will definitely like it, if not i will be completely wrong haha and you should watch dollhouse and dr. horrible aswell

Welcome here! I look forward reading what your comments on here. This is a very welcoming community. Have fun!!!!

thanks all for the welcomes 🙂 and cordy_chase i recommend you watch firefly its just fantastic
My bestie likes Firefly, I just might give it a shot sometime. It only has one season though as I recall her telling me, shame.

I know what 'ship' means, you had said that it took you some time to understand the term and I was saying how that's understandable because the term itself the way it is used to express your support of a given fictional couple is quite strange, it makes no sense.
