Just one quick observation here - a good one.

I just joined up, made an introduction and made a brief reply to a thread.

One thing though - this forum really as all the bases covered, so much so that I don't know where the hell to even begin!

I'm thinking I might just dive into whatever's related to what I was just watching: Finished Buffy season 4, and will start season 5 (got delayed on that) and ANGEL season 2.

Of course there's so much more than that and it's overwhelming. A good overwhelming because there's a huge selection. Don't want to miss out on other threads, questions and comments that look interesting just from my quick glances at them alone.

That is all. 🙂

I like to use the unread posts as my starting point - that's the threads that have recent posts.

lol have to admit to loving your banner
Yeah, I use the unread posts too. Also, I've found when joining any board, it's best too sart on the threads with less posts in them.

Yep, I always click on New Posts when I check in. And that's how I started too- commenting on the episode discussions. It's one of the main reasons I joined: I was starting a rewatch and have nobody IRL to talk Buffyese with! 🙂

I'm glad that you think it's a good thing to be overwhelmed! 😀 The board is definitely big, but very fun and lots to talk about here. I suggest going to the Bag Eggs forum to get adopted, and then if you ever have any questions you can ask your "parent" what's the what. 😀

Well I'm glad that you're enjoying the forums anyway, and thinking back to when I was a newbie I can understand feeling overwhelmed! As the other members have suggested, using the "New Posts" feature at the top of the page is one of the best ways to browse the latest posts around BB. It will give you a list of any threads that have have new posts added to them since your last login, and can really save time! 🙂

Also, if there are any sections of the forum that for some reason you don't want to look at, you can edit your settings so those areas won't appear anywhere on BB. For example: If you haven't seen Season 5 of AtS and don't want to read spoilers, or haven't gotten around to watching Firefly yet and aren't looking to discuss it in that forum. All you have to do is change your settings and those particular forums won't appear; making the boards seem a little smaller and easier to manage 🙂

If you are interested in making some forums disappear, look under your "User Links" tab at the top of the page and click "Edit Options". That should take you to a new page, at the bottom of which you'll find a section called "Forums To Exclude From View". Just select any forums that you want to hide and click "Save Changes". You can always change this setting again later.

Okay. Good to know. The two comic book forums will be the first to go, since I haven't read either series' comic seasons and know nothing about them.

Oh, but you absolutely have to read Buffy season 8! No matter what you think of it, it's so fun discussing Buffy in the present tense LOL. 🙂 I have not read any of the Angel comics though...yet!

I haven't read either one because I've never enjoyed reading comics at all, despite enjoying a lot of comic-based movies. I'm going to wait until the Season 8 Motion Comic collection is available so I can see the whole thing at once. Hope they do one for "After The Fall". \

I might as well hide the "Lover's Walk" forum as well, since I won't be going there.
