Just some thoughts.

For me it wasn't a low blow, it was an example of disrespect that to me shows that while members are happy to reap any benefits you're not willing to face up to things you have done yourself. You gave an example, I countered with a personal grievance that fitted as an example of my own. Perhaps you don't remember that I tried to help you during that time and it was blatantly ignored, something that yes, I found to be disrespectful and that as a moderator, I chose not to vent to spare your feelings and ensuing drama, which is why I have not lashed out as this before.
I don't want to get into a fight about the past with you... but I don't believe I ever blatantly ignored you when you offered to help. However, I do believe this is not the time nor place for this. If you have a grievance with me specifically and took offense to something I did... please PM me about it. Lashing out publicly isn't the answer.

Also, I AM willing to face up to things I've done myself. At the end of my first post in this thread, I apologized generally for times I've let my emotions get the best of me when dealing with the staff and in specific the most recent time. I am NOT being one sided here. I have done wrong too and I'll be the FIRST to admit it. I actually WAS.

Doing so now is from my belief that if you have the right to an opinion, you have the right to be criticised for it, normally I have not done so in this kind of way, but I'm just tired of taking it I guess.
I completely agree with the whole "if you have the right to an opinion, you have the right to be criticized for it," but that's not what you did. You didn't criticize me for my actual opinion... you criticized me for a mistake I made in the past that had nothing to do with the actual topic being discussed and an opinion that you placed on me even though I explicitly stated I did not have that opinion.

Sorry if you thought it was childish, I could counter that argument to but I don't see a point, the thread has started to go in circles and I don't see much good coming from it anymore. I wanted to give my view of things and I have, for once without censoring myself (which I don't mind doing because I prefer to stay neutral but enough is enough this week).

I didn't just think that was childish, you admitted to it being childish before you even said it. You prefaced it with it being childish. You can counter argue it being childish all you want, but at one point in time when you posted it originally you agreed... so....

By the way just to point something out, I love how we just got off topic on an argument that has no business in this thread. (love here is sarcastic FYI). And I hope that we can move on to something that actually does belong in this thread. Like mending fences and not holding grudges.

So, as far as I'm seeing this thread is going around in circles and that's not going to be constructive to the cause. It's all very well saying "the staff are mean" or "nope it's the members who are the meanines" but that's just going to keep going in circles. Would it not be better to accept that there are issues on both sides (I've seen people acknowledge their mistakes already) and instead of continually pointing them out, post and say what you, just you, are going to do about it and contribute to stopping the negativity on the boards? If we're all on the same team of stopping the negativity and acknowledge what we're doing about it instead of what everyone else is doing about it, perhaps we'll get further towards stopping it?

I wanted some time to think about this....

I've already said that I'm going to take a step back and be less emotional with my responses... But on top of that, I'm also going to try and balance my posts with topics that aren't as emotional to me. I usually tend to only respond to threads I have a strong emotional reaction to, and that makes my posting on the boards be more emotional than my overly emotional self. So I'm going to try to do that. I'm also going to try to recognize when a discussion turns into an off topic argument and try not to fuel that fire. I'm terrible at that, and I vow to get better.

great contributions to board positivity!
This is exactly why Jo never should have made this a thread. Because all it is now is angry members saying why they agree about how harsh the staff is.

The members here need to take a look at their own behavior before criticizing the staff. The posts in here alone are perfect examples of how members speak with such attitude and self-righteousness in their posts. I'm tired of it. So is it really any surprise that the mods are? I've never seen Taake speak to anyone with anything less then respect, and maybe she was a little harsh in this thread but after all that's being said in this thread I'd be surprised if all the mods weren't upset by this.

Everyone needs to lay off the mods, check their attitude at the door, and maybe then we can get back to the way things used to be on the site. You don't have a right to be rude.

A to the freakin' MEN.
I think Zobo you should also recogise the point that this thread was brought up to criticise the Mods and you had no problem jumping in on it, and your post isn't as balanced as you may think, saying it's the members and mods fault, it's very sided that it's the mods fault, but when someone brings up a fault of yours it's a matter that should be discussed privately.

This thread and peoples comments weren't in the private forum for members concerns, or done by PM, everything was out in the open, because it's perfectly fine to do that when the staff are the subject, but when it's a problem with a member, that is something that should have been discussed privately?

I couldn't have said it better, myself.
Okay this is going nowhere. I think everyone who had something to say has said it so I'll just close this. Members Concerns forum is open if anyone has additional concerns.
