Just started watching and I'm hooked

Hi there,

Where was I went this wonderful show was on TV? Not sure, but now I know I'm hooked. My DH and I watched the first 2 seasons in 2 weeks and can't wait to get the next season.

But I have a question, In the last show of the second season (Becoming Part 2), Buffy kills Angel. Logically - why does she have to. I mean Angel pulled the sword out of the deamon without killing himself, just putting blood on his hands. Why can Buffy do the same, just cut him and shove the sword into the evil dude not kill him.

I undestand this was a good (by terribly sad) plot twist, but why in what we were told was it needed?

Hey welcome to the boards, any problems just ask.

As far as Becoming, um maybe she didn't have time to explain then cut his blood then use the sword, the world was ending after all.
 
In short, Angel loses his soul, becomes evil Angelus and brings forth the Demon Acathala(sp?) who will suck the world into hell. Once Acathala was activated, the only way to stop him from sucking the world into hell, was to stab the person who awoke him with the sword Buffy had and send him to hell instead. As for the Becoming question, there was a thread on this awhile back here, and we all ended up agreeing that the whole blood thing was a major oversight on the writer's part. Cuz, the way they were saying it, she coulda just stabbed him good and used the blood to close it 🙂
 
Maybe she could have just used his blood, but she just didn't know? Who knows!

Anyway, welcome! have fun with the next seasons, they're all great!😀
