How cool is it looking back and seeing Kal Penn in an episode of Buffy WAY before his time in Harold and Kumar? I love it when big name stars get their start on a Joss Whedon show.

Oh yeah he was also in an episode of Angel (That Vision Thing)

I haven't seen Beer Bad in a very long time, so hadn't realised it was him!

But I love the other examples, Amy Adams played Taras cousin Beth and Jeremy Renner was in an episode of Angel.

Summer Glau got her start in an episode of Angel as well. Can't remember the name of the episode off the top of my head, but it was the one where the gang goes to the ballet. She plays the russian ballerina that is trapped in the loop forever dancing the same ballet.

Lilac1 - Summer was in 'Waiting in the Wings'. Joss considered it her audition for Firefly and offered her the part.

I can't believe I didn't know it was the same guy from 'Beer Bad' that was in 'That Vision Thing'. We always make such big deals about the reuses of actors (Summer, Adam, Gina, Nathan) I can't believe there was one that slipped out radar for all these years!!

Oh yeah I am a huge fan of Joss re using actors. I was so glad he used Brian Thompson as the Judge. He did such a good job as Luke and is just so massive. I was really hoping they would use him again to play the Beast in Angel, but no such luck.

also the vampire Cralik (sp?) from the episode Helpless being re used to play as the magic "drug dealer" Raak in later episodes. Joss knows exactly how to use his actors perfectly.

Same with Aom Lenk, he was a Vampire in Harmonys grew, then Andrew!

and Joshua Woodward (think thats his name) who was in Buffy/Angel and Firefly

Edit

Lyri agrees: Jonathan Woodward

Oh yes thats the one! Thanking you! Too lazy to google!

See, I've always been big about recognizing Buffyverse actors FOR their smaller parts on the show. When I first saw previews of "Harold and Kumar" I was like "WHOA! It's that guy from "Beer Bad"!! 😉

I have also gotten excited over seeing "Larry" in Sears commercials, as well as the girl who played "Nancy" in "Beauty and the Beasts".

Jeremy Renner was not just in an episode pf Angel, he was there as Penn the Engraver, Angelus' first child. (I use Penn in a lot of my fanfic, especially stuff that takes place in historical times before the series).
