honestly kanye west is one of the biggest douchebags ever. if this was his first time doing something inexcuseable then i could prolly forgive it, but honestly it's just time and time again. he wants to be like head black guy and feels like he has to belittle every white person to do it. kanye west is a racist and a biggot. props though to beyonce, what she did when she accepted her award was classy and very kind. I used to not be a fan of beyonce but after that I was impressed.

Agreed completely! I don't care for Beyonce's music but that was extremely great of her to do, and I bet it made Kanye realize how idiotic he was.
I was pleased with Beyonce's reaction to the whole thing. For those of you who weren't able to see the rest of the awards, when Beyonce was up there, she let Taylor use her award speech time to finish her own speech. And she honestly looked so suprised and hurt when Kanye went up there. At least some people in that business can be called professional.

Beyoncé has always behaved in a responsible & dignified manner. Not a fan of her music, but she seems like a nice enough lady who hasn't let her superstar status go to her head.

I was SOOOOOOO mad when he did that to Taylor! she just finished saying how she always dreamed of getting a VMA, then he hasta be a douchebag and ruin her moment!!!!!!!!! I loved it when Beyonce gave Taylor her time to shine while she could have just forgotten about what kanye did.
 
So, am I the only one who hadn't heard about this?
I don't even know who either Taylor Swift or Kayne West is...

Have heard about Beyoncé though. 🙂

I'm just sad that he apologised on the Jay Leno show, making Taylor Swift cry was one of the most badass moments of 2009. His apology was pathetic, "What would your mom say about this?" SERIOUSLY? Way to piss on being badass of the week, Kanye.
 
Kanye West is one of the biggest douchebags of all time. I couldn't believe what I saw when he did that, and you could tell he totally embarassed Beyonce, too. Poor Taylor... She wins her first VMA and this asshole ruins her big moment. Wow.
And as far as his "apology" went, whatever... He was just trying to play the sympathy card to try to get people to stop hating him. No such luck here, pal. 🙁

As i've said already i'm a huge country fan and so i'm signed up to recieve the CMT Newsletter and I just got one in my inbox today about this whole thing... I mean its not hugely interesting but Taylor Swift made an apperance Tuesday on ABC's The View and i thought i'd post a few things from the article.

Swift told the hosts of The View that she still hadn't been contacted by West in the aftermath of his outburst on the awards show, but she said she would be willing to speak to him. "Sure. I mean, he has not personally reached out or anything, but if he wanted to just say hi," she said.

West phoned her shortly after the Tuesday episode of The View aired.

"Kanye did call me, and he was very sincere in his apology, and I accepted that apology," she told ABC News Radio.

The article also has her saying this

Recalling her reaction when she realized she had won the award, Swift said, "My overall thought process went something like, 'Wow, I can't believe I won. This is awesome. Don't trip and fall. I'm going to get to thank the fans. This is so cool. Oh, Kanye West is here. Cool haircut. What are you doing there?" And then, 'Ouch!' And then, 'I guess I'm not gonna get to thank the fans.'"

Swift said she didn't have time to mentally process the situation at the time.

"I'm not going to say that I wasn't rattled by it, but I had to perform live five minutes later, so I had to get myself back to the place where I could perform," she said.

Yeah, I'm going to agree with others when I reiderate: what a jackass! Honestly unbelieveable. How disrespectful! Doesn't matter if he thought Taylor shouldn't have won the award. What he did was completely unprofessional.
 
The joke is way old already. I'm so sick of hearing about this guy. You can't turn on the tv without someone talking about it. People are treating this like a national tragedy. Yea, what he did sucked and it was rude, but it's not headlining news. He's like a petulant child clamoring for attention and he's wildly successful at getting it everytime. Maybe this is where his supermassive ego comes from. Everything he does gets the media coverage of a terrorist attack.

Blah. Go away Kanye.

^^yeah, Kanye is such a child. I used to like him in 04 when he came out, but seriously, these years his music is crap. He should concentrate on his own lame tunes before he starts storming the stage from now on.

Kanye has permanently ripped a title from "psychic" John Edward(and with credit due to South Park)...
