Kean and Lyri, Redux

I don't get people saying this wasn't a good April Fool's/wasn't funny/etc. April Fool's are meant to trick people and basically be cruel (in a lighthearted way of course haha) and so many different people got fooled at different parts which is nifty. And as much as I love Kean and Lyri....I did get a love out of them being fooled at one point too haha.

I mean it may not have been as mainstream and over-all crazy as last year's Nazi-Kean-Take-Over with obligatory Bangel thread and the loss of house and headers and the madness haha, but it was still just as good a fool in my opinion. I think the only reason I wasn't got was my determination for the past week not to be fooled by you guys this time around haha.

Anyway, its all well and good you guys that read it after the event, but the fact is, there was quite a convincing air to the first part of the 'fool' when it was 'live'.

If I was reading this now, yes, I would think its all part of April Fools, but we were caught up in the moment so all you guys that feel 'superior' because you 'knew' straight away, though we'll never know, I believe you would have been caught up in it.

Heck, the only reason the follow up stuff became obvious at the time was because of the way it was handled and THEN took so long.

First off *Yawns at Al.* Your not twelve. I yawned at a childish prank. Mainly Buffy's.

I do not feel superior because I never fell for it, heck I was on the boards yesterday and read all the posts concerning the prank,before concluding April 1st,- prank, end of. Buffy does not go around banning mods anyway.

Lyri and kean's joke was obvious and I am glad it raised a smile.

Personally I don't get what the big deal is with all the going back and forwards. It was an April Fools, a bit of fun. Those that were here at the time seemed to enjoy it and those (actively) taking part seemed to enjoy it.

Is 98% sure enough? 😉 The reason that I didn't post was because why tell people it's a joke so early? Maybe to show how "smart" you are not to fall for it. If it's a joke it's more fun to see how many that will fall for it instead of possibly ruining it by telling.

There were ALOT of people who got caught up in it, and rightly so, who will attest to how convincing it actually was.

Some of those people I think went by it the same way as you suggested that you did. "could be I like a good fight to much to care about anything else" But that's just me guessing of course.

The prank was VERY entertaining for a time, one of the best this board has done for numerous reasons all of which are probably in this thread already.

Granted it probably doesn't live up to your SFX one where

posts an article about how Leonard Nimoy bought dolphins for a BBQ

Followed by

replying with a "really"

ending with

replying "Haha, April Fools"

BUT it was still VERY good.

Again, you don't have to prove anything to anyone. If you say that, fair game, the only person who needs convincing is yourself - why waste time trying to convince people who definitely don't care enough to believe you?

Doesn't matter why people fell for it, they did, quote me as much as you like, I'm not ashamed to admit that I like a good scrap and I'm not ashamed to admit I fell for the Buffy-Boards wannabe hook line and sinker.

I was fooled by the fake Buffy Boards, mostly because it was still the 31st here and I wasn't thinking about it.

I figured banning Lyri and Kean was a joke, but then it kept going LONG past when I would expect an "April Fools!" and return to normalcy, and I started to get worried.

So I was partly taken in, yeah. And it was fun. 😀

It was a joke, a bit of fun. Maybe you got punk'd maybe you didn't...but does it really matter? More importantly is it something that needs to be argued over?

I get that some people didn't find this funny at all, and you are more than entitled to feel that way but lets keep it all in perspective...it was joke, a silly, stupid one but a joke none the less.
