Kendra: What do people think??

I don't know, actually. I don't love her and I don't hate her. She was alright. I liked that she could pull herself out a bit of the slayer-by-the-book attitude.

I like her accent. I actually talk like her sometimes. Just for the fun of it. I ofen say "I tink". Besides, she has pretty amazing face (well, besides the make up she put on).

Also, I always run into comments about people not knowing where she's from. Like it's a mystery. It's like a game 😀

She was "meh". Her actor wasn't anything special and her character left very abruptly, we never got much development so I don't think the viewers got much of a chance to sympathize with her. I would have loved to have seen the romance they hinted at when Kendra and Xander first met, I think Xander dating a Slayer who wasn't Buffy could have been very interesting

Wasn't fond of her when she first came on but I like her more now. Favourite line is easy the one about her shirt. I agree that the lack of screentime made it difficult to feel for her.

i liked her quite a bit, because she was such a foil for buffy. she showed how slayers are traditionally taught and raised--it was really quite shocking. i think she lets us appreciate buffy's situation a lot more.

I agree with Hale Caesar, to me she was 'meh'.
I didn't care for her really, what was there to care for? We knew next to nothing about her. And the accent bugged me to death. The actress bugged me too so I was glad she wasn't around much.

(oh and I really dislike the line about her shirt. Don't get why people find it so funny *Scratches head*)

I think that Kendra, aside from establishing that Buffy's being temporarily dead created a new Slayer, sort of illustrated what Slayers were like traditionally. Her few references to herself and her training indicate that her Watcher or the Council virtually bought her as a child from her family and raised her with the single goal in mind, that she would one day become the Slayer, and she was, literally, a "by the book" Slayer, as opposite Buffy's character in her own way as Faith ever would be. Sadly, we got very little in the way of insight beyond those few facts, before she was killed. Kendra COULD have been a quite interesting character, and it's a shame that she had to be basically nothing much more than cannon fodder in the war between Mankind and the demon world/

Liked her a lot, it was a right shame she got killed off in her second appearance. But then again, I do realize her character was pretty much static - and while I personally like that, it'd have made it hard to write interesting story developments featuring her. So, logically (if sadly), "Enter the far less stable second Slayer" was the right decision, from a writer's POV.

I like Kendra ok... Her accent is a little annoying because of the actress and her horrible accent, but I really liked Kendra and was sad to see her die.
She couldn't have been too awful. She did, after all, come back to help Buffy with the Acathala debacle.

I did like her better the second time around when we saw her but then she was pretty much just 'there' and then she died. She never really got anything to do :S

It definitely feels like she just came back so that somebody could die in Becoming.

Yeah... I wish we'd have gotten to see her a little bit longer before she was gone. :\

To me it isn't the line itself but how she say it. Not sure why it appeals to me, since I don't care much for her accent otherwise, but it does.

I might be in the minority here, but I find her to be really annoying. Less so in Becoming than What's My Line?, but still ... annoying. It felt like her return in Becoming was purely so that somebody could die, thus giving it extra weight.

I do appreciate her giving Buffy Mr. Pointy though, and the continuity of Buffy and Mr. Pointy throughout the series.

This is interesting, more people like her than I thought. I like her too, but only to an extent. Her accent was extremely painful but I do like her character development over the time of knowing Buffy. The scene with her and Buffy at the end of What's My Line Part 2 is kind of awesome. I enjoyed hers and Buffy's relationship when it was good but yeah, she wasn't amazing. And not really relatable but she was a fun character.

I loved Kendra I was so happy that they brought her back even though she died. I wish we would have seen more of her, even just heard updates about her character from Giles. I also wish we knew more about her life.

Is there a Kendra comic?
